Heck, I'm not sure the Spurs have that great a chance in the playoffs despite the impressive W-L record. Especially because you have to imagine the Lakers will turn up the effort level come playoff time.

 

But I think a healthy Celtics or Heat squad should handle the Lakers.

According to today's Hollinger ratings, here are championship odds:

Spurs 22.9%

Heat 21.4%

Magic 11.1%

Bulls 9.9%

Celtics 9.5%

Lakers 8.6%

Mavericks 5.9%

Thunder 2.5%

Hornets 2.0%

Sixers, Grizzlies, Nuggets 1-2%

Blazers, Suns, Knicks, Rockets, Pacers 0.1-1%

 

the sixers do not have a 1-2% chance of winning a championship. maybe a 1-2% chance of beating whoever they would play in the first round if they made the playoffs.

Also what I was wondering yesterday, when do the cell phone votes start counting? Why I'm asking is because I'm sure a crapload of people voted immediately after Griffins last dunk,and McGee had less time to collect votes. Unless they only counted the votes after the last dunk

My biggest issue with it now is all the missed dunks. You know what MJ, Vince, and Nique great? They all did it on the first try. That and they didn't need a thousand props to catch an alleyoop and dunk it with two hands. Oh and I hate Kenny Smith.

Kenny Smith is good in the studio but you get him on one of these gimmick events and he becomes "Robin Williams on a talk show" annoying.

Yeah I agree. That and when he starts talking crap to Charles and Reggie. Kenny you played with one of the best players ever, that's why you got two rings.

Completely agree. There should either be a bonus for making it on the first try or a penalty for needing more than two or three attempts.

the degree of difficulty on some of those dunks is so off the charts now that a couple of misses per attempt is pretty much going to be a staple

That's the way I feel. If you are one and done you will pretty much see dunks that have already been done however, if the contestants take chances doing dunks that haven't been seen than it will take a few chances for them to convert and it's anti-climatic.

Are you sure any of those dunks were harder than the wrong way 360 windmill Vince unleashed in one attempt after jogging into it?

That was more in the days when the Celtics were clearly tanking in order to draft Oden (teams were actually doing this).
