Cleveland was mathematically eliminated from the Central division race yesterday. That has to be one of the earliest eliminations in NBA history. More sad Cleveland facts:

- Cleveland has trailed in the 4th quarter in 54 of their 55 games this year.

- Of the 9 wins they do have, 3 were on buzzer-beaters, and two were in OT.

- Their largest margin of victory is 8 points. They've lost 10 games by fewer than 8 points, 4 of those in the last two weeks.

The Nuggets were offering 'Melo and Billups for Felton, Curry, Gallinari, another starter and a No. 1. The only player I could find that the Trade Machine would accept was Azubuike. The Knicks would gain eight wins.

The Lakers are four minutes away from losing to the Cavaliers.

Cavs may blow it

Don't worry. Kobe will chuck up another horrible 3 to finish it.

The Lakers are in trouble. I can't believe this is last year's Boston team anymore. The team just isn't playing well. On paper they should be....do they just not want it anymore?

Why not? Just because they lost to Cleveland on the road? Did you know that Boston lost to New Jersey (worst team in the league) last year in Boston?

They'll be fine. They'll turn it on for the playoffs when there are no back-to-backs. It will be harder but they've won a ton of games on the road the last three years so I'm not too worried about that. As long as they're healthy, they'll make a deep run.

I still think the Lakers are coasting and will be fine in the playoffs. They still have one of the best records in the league. Boston is the best team in the league though. I don't think anyone beats them in a 7 game series.

Not to mention Boston also lost to Cleveland this year.

Heck, I'm not sure the Spurs have that great a chance in the playoffs despite the impressive W-L record. Especially because you have to imagine the Lakers will turn up the effort level come playoff time.

But I think a healthy Celtics or Heat squad should handle the Lakers.

I think those two series, as well as the Spurs, would be like the Lakers-Celtics finals last year in terms of there being very little between the teams and a couple plays making all the difference.
