It's extremely unlikely that referring doesn't explain some of the difference between Rose and the other high FT guys.

And nobody has given me a satisfactory answer as to why Rose is being discriminated against by referees. "There oughta be an investigation" is not an acceptable answer Stacey

They don't know how to ref him fairly. I don't think there is some systemic conspiracy to keep him off the line.

This isn't even me being a homer. I'm pretty sure 9 out of 10 people who aren't fans of either team would tell you Orlando is still the superior team. But we aren't even having this discussion if half our team doesn't come down with the flu right before the road trip out West. If you don't think all four of our losses last week were tied to the team having/getting over the flu then I don't know what to tell you. Without it we go 3-1 at worst over those 4.

If you don't think the Bulls and Magic are in a similar position this year in terms of conference finish in the standings, then you're being a homer. 9 out of 10 people who aren't fans of either would view both as a step behind Boston and Miami, currently. Just because the Magic are a bad matchup right now for the Bulls specifically, doesn't mean a whole lot in terms of the teams' outlook for the season and playoffs.

I never said the Bulls wouldn't finish near the Magic in the standings. They'll probably indeed finish 4th. What I basically said is that ranking them ahead of Orlando right now is BS because they've done nothing to prove they are better. And again, it's being assumed that the Magic being ravaged by the flu has somehow weakened the team for good. Without the flu, Orlando is at least 18-6, most likely 19-5 and nobody is calling Chicago the better team.

and without the boozer injury and playing the toughest schedule in the NBA, the bulls are probably close to that record too

[expletive], if not for a melo miracle buzzer beater and a knicks miracle 3 point shooting display, the bulls would be 17-6 right now. see, i can play that game too.

This is all just a result of their 6-game winning streak anyway. It's amazing how confident fans get in their team after going on a bit of a run that included beating the Lakers. Unfortunately it's not going to get better anytime soon because the Bulls schedule is absolute cake for the rest of the month. We'll find out in April/May how good they really are.

Wow, this is just stupid. Why do you think the Bulls schedule is "cake"?

Why don't you look back at their schedule so far this season, look at their overall record, consider Boozer is still getting into form, and then tell me why Bulls fans are excited

A 15-8 record while playing the toughest schedule in the NBA mostly without Boozer, and we won't find out what the bulls really are until April? Awesome

By the way, the Magic have played the 4th easiest schedule so far.

Also, I think it's funny that a big part of your argument has come down to "we'll see who is better when the playoffs come" when you're a fan of the Magic.... a team who keeps proving that thy can't get it done in the playoffs

They've been a 3, 2, and 3 seed under Van Gundy and gone to the Eastern semis, NBA Finals, and Eastern Conference Finals. That's not underperforming.

Our schedule is ridiculously easy for the next three weeks, besides the Christmas game against the Knicks. If that doesn't qualify as cake, I don't know what does.

so have they gotten it done in the playoffs or not? based on their records in those years, i think the results in the postseason have definitely been disappointing.

they won 52 games in 07-08 and then flamed out in the second round without putting up much of a fight (acceptable)

they won 59 games in 08-09 and reached the finals because of a weak eastern conference (taking 7 games to beat the KG-less celtics that needed 7 games to beat the 41-41 bulls), then get destroyed by the lakers in the finals

they won 59 games last year and get beaten easily by the 50 win celtics

im just syaing based on their regular seaosn records, their recent playoff performances have been disappointed. i don't really think i'm in the minority here either. i think most magic fans would agree with this.

You misread my post. I agreed that it's cake

They haven't gone all the way, but they've won and dominated their share of playoff series over the past couple years. Therefore I don't understand what point you're trying to make. All I said was that I'm very confident should Orlando end up playing Chicago in the playoffs.

i agree with you on that. the magic are a horrible matchup for the bulls.

when i was ranking the teams, it was based on where i thought they'd finish the regular season. that's why i did 1-8. it had nothing to do with who i thought would go further in the playoffs.

i think there's a very good chance the bulls finish ahead of the magic in the regular season, because our schedule now becomes very, very easy. i never said i thought the bulls would beat the magic in the playoffs, because i don't.

Fair enough.

Really? You think his post is fair but disagreed with bukie?

Since DM was the one who originally ranked Chicago ahead of Orlando, I felt it was appropriate to say it to him. My "fair enough" can go for everyone though if it means we can stop arguing. Seriously.

for the record, my prediction of chicago finishing ahead of orlando was very loose. it could go either way for sure, and i know many would still pick orlando.

i just really like our schedule from here on out

It's awfully convenient how you leave out in 08-09 that they beat 66-16 Cleveland.

And then after mentioning that they narrowly beat a couple teams that year, you leave out that they annihilated Charlotte (not a great accomplishment) and a 53-win Atlanta team last year. You also act like losing to the Celtics was a horrible thing when the Celtics started 23-5 before going on cruise control and were a decent fourth quarter away from winning the NBA title.

Looks to me like Orlando has performed at least as good as would be expected in the playoffs, if not a little better.

Love ESPN's Trade Machine

Lakers get LeBron James from Miami for Vujacic, Ratliff, Walton and Barnes, get Chris Paul from New Orleans for Artest and Fisher and Dwight Howard from Orlando for Andrew Bynum.

PG: Paul-Blake

SG: Bryant-Brown

SF: James-Ebanks

PF: Gasol-Odom

C: Howard-Caracter

Not too shabby.
