dusty played a big role in destroying the most promising cubs pitcher in several decades. nothing good should happen to him, ever.

You mean Prior or Wood, here?

I'd really enjoy seeing Wood knock out Dusty's team in the playoffs.

I'm really torn on the Reds because I've always liked the team, but the thought of Dusty having success makes me feel awful inside.

I also hope the Phillies crash and burn.

Joe Morgan, Pete Rose, Rob Dibble, Mario Soto and now Dusty. I'm really not sure how it can be any easier to dislike the Reds.

True, too young, mostly too young, who, and true.

It's hard to hate a team that has been completely irrelevant as long as I've been a big fan of baseball. Since they've been in the same division as us, they've won 2 NL Central titles, 1995 which was maybe the first year I really cared about baseball, and this year. Before that they were in the West and didn't really mean much to me.

Oh, suprised Joey Votto and Marty Brennaman didn't make your list.

Edit: Oh....mario Soto

In the first incident, on May 27 against the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field, third baseman Ron Cey hit what was originally ruled a home run down the left field line. Believing the ball had gone foul, Soto and Reds manager Vern Rapp disputed the call, and during the argument, Soto shoved third base umpire Steve Rippley, who had made the call. After conferring, the umpires changed their decision and ruled it a foul ball, drawing a protest from the Cubs. However, for shoving Rippley, Soto was ejected, prompting him to charge the field and attack Cubs coach Don Zimmer, which triggered a ten-minute brawl. Four days later, National League president Chub Feeney suspended Mario Soto for five games. This game is also notable because Soto's opponent that day was future Hall of Fame Dennis Eckersley, who would go on to become a record-setting closer years later. "Eck", who was making his Cubs debut after being acquired in a trade with the Boston Red Sox (the Red Sox received Bill Buckner and then-minor league middle infielder Mike Brumley), would take the loss that day

I've been thinking Rays since early in the season -- honestly don't remember who I picked preseason -- though the Oswalt trade changes the calculus. I'll stick with the Rays though.

Yankees 3, Twins 1

Rays 3, Rangers 1

Phillies 3, Reds 0

Giants, 3, Braves 2

Rays 4, Yankees 2

Phillies 4, Giants 2

Rays 4, Phillies 3

I'm hoping for a Yankees/Braves WS so D-Lee and Woody can get another chance.

And over my brain's best wishes, I want the Yankees to win it all. Woody deserves a ring.

All I'm hoping for is either the Rays or Rangers to win their series in 3. If it goes to game four, it's going to be a cluster[expletive] trying to get out of the Cowboys game on Sunday with the Rangers hosting a playoff game and the shared parking lots between the two stadiums.

There is no way in hell I am going anywhere near Arlington on Sunday. Vance you might as well an park on Saturday night.

I don't mind seeing the Reds do well because they are a franchise who hasn't done well lately and I like to see historical franchises do well for the most part. I won't be actively rooting for them though because of Dusty though.

I'm not rooting for them because of all their "I hate the Cubs" nonsense. I mean seriously, what a bunch of whiny babies. But it's because of Dusty that I actively hope they fail.

I hope the Phillies lose in the worst way. Primarily because I have friends who are huge Phillies fans. Actually they're an entire family (6 kids) and they're all Phillies fans and have this "holier-than-thou" arrogance when it comes to their favorite sports teams and I just really enjoy watching them be miserable.

When the Cubs were responsible for killing their playoff chances a few years back ('06 I think?), that was a very special day for me

all i care about is that the reds do not win a single game in the post season. not 1.

This. Also, any horrific injuries that have a negative impact on next season (or beyond) would be greatly appreciated.

I'm just hoping the Phillies sweep DFB and the Reds to continue the NL Central sweep streak. I would also like to see Kerry Wood win a ring even though it means another Yankees title.

Gut feeling says the Philies win it all though.

The Reds were really likable during the 70s...too bad several of those players have retired from baseball to become very unlikable

Not if you were a Cub fan, I hated those guys.

I have a season pass for a lot on Division St. It's about a mile away from the stadium on a used car lot, but the owner has a 14-passenger bus he uses to shuttle us to the stadium. I should be ok. If the Rangers end up playing Sunday (the game would start at noon), I might arrive early, try to get a single for the Rangers game and watch it until time to head to the Cowboys game.
