What worse loss ? Ole miss or ku. No defense vs no offense

At least your guys looked like major college athletes. Not a lot to be hopeful about for KU football fans.

Kansas deserves to lose just because of those jerseys. They look like the jerseys that you see at Wal-Mart.

you ain't lying. they look like practice jerseys.

Les Miles is a terrible football coach. It's going to be nice when members of the media actually start realizing that.

Having watched him coach for years at Oklahoma State, I was shocked when he got the LSU job. I've been waiting for him to be exposed as the fraud that he is for years now. Looks like that time may be soon upon us.

I am going to boldly predict that the winner of next weeks ND/Mich game will be ranked way to high

yeah as in, if they're ranked then they're way too high.

I don't think either of these teams gets into the top 25 starting 2-0. There are a lot of people that are skeptical of both. Plus, I'm not expecting a clean win for either next week. Probably a close, somewhat sloppy game.

Disagree. Not sure about the coaches, but the media is always looking for a reason to rank ND and Michigan when they aren't ranked.

Guess we'll see how much they move up this week. ND only had a few votes last week and I don't think UM had any. Maybe either would sneak into the top 25; it also depends on the teams ahead of them.

Speaking of the media, did you see the ND clip that Gameday played yesterday morning? Even Fowler, when they came back to the 3 stooges, commented on the tone. Not sure if that's a widely held perception outside of ND fans.

nearly every top 25 team won, so I don't expect much movement in the polls

I was referring to the "also receiving votes" teams, which can move greatly in the early going. If ND and UM move up to just outside the top 25 today, they could sneak in next week if teams in the 20s lose.

does anyone like Mark May? I hate Lou Holtz on that show, but Mark May will say anything for a buck.

Iowa fans seem to because he seems to have hard on for Kirk Ferentz.

Mark May said yesterday that Michigan was going to roll against ND next week, so I like him for that. Other than that though, yeah he sucks.

he is very anti-ND, or ESPN has asked him to be to offset Lou.

It's Samford.

yeah no kidding, it's not like bowden was having trouble blowing out bad i-aa teams.

You serious, Clark?

We WERE having problems with FCS teams, almost getting beat by Jax. St. last year and haven't covered the spread of more than 10 points against an unranked team in 3-4 years. This is the first time in a LONG TIME that we've been able to beat a team convincingly that we were supposed to beat that badly. It's one of the first times we've been able to get our 1st teamers off the field at the end of the first half and develop some depth.

This game was HUGE for us right before OU, as we developed some depth, got some PT for freshman, and were able to have a "practice" at game speed to debut a new defense and defensive staff, RB coach (who has made amazing contributions to our style), and see where some of our weaknesses fall. As someone who watches all of their games, there was a noticeable difference in our size, power, and speed on defense thanks to the new S&C coach, and a new scheme (first time we've shown multiple - more than 2 - coverages in a game in 20 years or so).

Big week for us, and a great way to see how the staff works together. I can't wait to see how next week unfolds, but we're moving in the right direction.

It feels pretty nice.

according to my friend, mark may said that no non-bcs school should ever play for a national championship. once again proving that mark may is a huge douchebag.

I wouldn't say never but in most years I agree. Boise plays 2 games per year that are equivalent to BCS conference teams. They usually play one of them the first game of the year and always have one of them at home. At least TCU has a couple of legit teams in their conference but it's still not in the same league as what the contenders from the SEC, Big Ten, Big 12 have to play.

in most years everyone agrees, but there are years when LSU has two losses and plays for a championship, or utah runs the table and looks great while doing so, or boise state topples national power oklahoma. so why don't these teams deserve a shot?

I think it would be harder for a Boise State type of team to get ready for a quality, BCS conference opponent (almost) every week than for it to get geeked up and game plan for the one powerhouse on its schedule. That's where the biggest difference lies.

I'm not against a non-BCS school getting a shot at the national title in theory though.

yes eddie, i am serious. jacksonville state is not a bad i-aa team - you may have noticed that they beat a i-a team yesterday. and if by LONG TIME you mean less than two years, then you're completely right, because this happened in 2008:

Sat, Sep 6 Western Carolina W 69-0

Sat, Sep 13 Chattanooga W 46-7

those are bad i-aa teams. who bobby bowden-coached teams beat just two years ago. so i would hold off on pronouncements of "we're back baby!" until after you beat a team that's better than sanford.

It's even worse because when teams like Boise try to schedule powerhouses from BCS schools in their nonconference schedules, 99% of the teams puss out. And because those teams, no matter how good they are, never get a fair chance at a national title, they're automatically handicapped in recruiting. It's ridiculous. I hate the BCS so much.
