Starting to feel slightly more optimistic, though. US can carry the possession for long periods, and when they do they've got a chance to create something.

Well the US has been able to keep possession quite a bit, but whenever they advance the ball too much it looks like England clamps down. Also, while England isn't being extremely aggressive offensively, they are getting much better chances looking for breakdowns in the American D and then making their move.
