I've been way too into the Blackhawks lately...after that one went in my brain instinctively queued up Chelsea Dagger and it began playing in my head. I can't believe I'm saying this but I'm actually kind of sick of that song right now lol.

 

Every replay that show of that goal, it looks worse and worse. That's just embarrassingly awful to give up in the [expletive] world cup.

Got to have some luck in a World Cup...

 

Objectively, both teams' weaknesses cost them goals. Clark ballwatched and let a player whose made a career out of runs into the 18 get by him, and Gooch can't move laterally well enough to block the move. Green was probably 3rd best of their 3 keepers.

 

We held possession pretty well, but were bereft of ideas. Jozy's playing incredibly poor. I want Buddle in for him no later than '55. Clark needs to come off for Torres, as this game is set up perfectly for him. Findley has been pretty decent, I think.

 

Demerit, thus far, has marked Rooney out of the game. He's starting to drop back deeper to collect the ball. That's a tactical win.

 

If I were Bradley, I'd sub in Torres at the half and strongly consider Goodison for Gooch.

 

England have had some chances and we have to do a hell of a lot better against their wingers. Clint got burnt a couple times on his end.

 

Finally, right now, Michael Bradley and Steven Gerrard are the best two players on the field.

Lol at the England goallie (I think I've played in front of more confident keepers than that in my playing days).

 

Having said that, I think 1-1 is a fair score after 45 minutes - even if the US needed a really good goallie (Howard) to get it.

 

Second half should be fun.

 

Friendly advice to Green - do not, under any circumstance, open a British paper tomorrow. 8-)
