I cannot stand the players clapping over their heads. It's the dumbest looking thing in sports, aside from tennis players clapping their rackets.

Would you prefer the bow/courtsey?

I'd prefer nothing. It's silly.

Acknowledging the crowd is weird? Just end the game and walk off?

Haha.

Nobody even know WHAT the call was on the disallowed goal. It was just called off.

I'd like to see that. Couldn't get ESPN3 to work in office.

So where do things stand for the US? If they win their next game, they'll certainly move on, yes?

Win and end up with a better differential/more goals than Slovenia or England.

They should be in, but could still miss with a win.

The bad scenarios are ones in which England and Slovenia play a high-scoring draw, and England beats Algeria by more than we do.

Win by at least two goals and we're good regardless of what England does in their last two games. We might not win the group, but we'll advance as we'll either finish ahead of England or Slovenia (one of them wins) or tied with them but a better goal differential than Slovenia (they tie).

Hopefully Rooney breaks someones nose early and gets a red or something. If Algeria could get any points today that would take all the externalities away, we beat Algeria and move on.

"Um, seeing as it would be the go-ahead goal for the USA, I'm going to disallow this one. Free kick to Slovenia. Play on."

If the remaining games go like this:

England beat Algeria 1-0

U.S. beat Algeria 1-0

England and Slovenia tie 2-2

Then it goes to drawing lots with a 3-way tie and two teams are in.

If the same things happen, but England and Slovenia have a 3-3 tie, U.S. is out.

If the U.S. beats Algeria by two goals, then I think they are in no matter what.

I could be wrong on all of this, though, doing this stuff by hand is hard.

They did a post-match interview with Bradley, and that's what he said, twice.

"We were just trying to get clarification on why the goal was waved off. Nobody knows."

Yes, either a two goal victory by the US, or a victory and no draw, and the US is through no matter what.

yes, it is.

These guys fly across the Atlantic, to see you play for 2 hours, and to spend 10 seconds responding it weird.

That is absurd.

It's so hard to watch a match like this in an office as is, but to hold yourself back from a profanity-laced tirade took everything I had.

Except it's something that's done in every game. It's pandering.

The fact that it's getting freakin' hot in the office didn't help, either.

I really should have. Not sure I'll be able to Wednesday morning, but I have my fingers crossed on ESPN3's PIP capability.

Last night I was hanging with a Celtics fan who was DVRing that game and didn't want to hear anything (even though he was getting home in plenty of time to watch the entire second half), and today in the office some guy is DVRing the game and has told people not to say anything. That's a bunch of BS if you ask me. A dozen people who all know what happened can't say anything because you are going to watch a sporting event 12 hours after it happens? Screw off.
