Did I miss something, why is everyone thinking Knicks now?

The twisted logic is that Lebron is tweeting and doing this special tomorrow...and NY is all about hype...so yeah.

Can't you see how that clearly goes together?

Its so funny how the media makes Stoudamire and Bosh seem like such studs. Bosh couldn't even make the playoffs last year. And somehow Amare is going to convince LeBron to possibly play for the Knicks? The Knicks had Lee last year who is almost as good as Amare and they were sh!t.

Get Lee. F@#$ the big three. Rose, Noah, Lee + a shooter is a decent team. Without the Noah injury and the disasterous losing streak, the Bulls could have been # 4 or 5 in the East.

If the Wade and Bosh think they're so damn good that they can win with a bunch of scrubs, lets see it. If LeBron ends up there as well, then of course I'll agree that they are favorites. But Wade and Bosh- we'll see. Lee put up nearly the numbers as Bosh last year, and NEITHER the Knicks of the Raptors made the playoffs.

LeBron's definitely reaching Brett Favre levels with this. At least Favre wasn't so arrogant as to have a hour long special on ESPN dedicated to his signing (not an official one, at least).

Completely different situation. Favre is an old man who knows he's coming back but takes over 6 months to make an announcement. LeBron will have been a FA for a week when he makes his announcement. Favre is a great QB, a Hall of Famer. But Lebron is also a shoe-in Hall of Famer, and is the biggest FA in the history of the Earth. If this was 1990 and Jordan was a free agent, you would have seen the same thing.

They're both being complete attention whores in their situations. Favre had the ability to take six months because the football offseason is so long. I'm sure LeBron would milk this out for a month if he could. I think he's had a pretty good idea for a while now where he's wanted to go.

Because Cub fandom has sapped what little rational logic there is here.

amare is basically moe williams the power forward. i really doubt he's a big draw for LeBron. If he goes to the knicks, it's all about market/image, not about some partnership with amare

Hey, what's Kevin Durant trying to do there? Be humble, understated and gracious? He even paying attention to his sport? Good for KD and OKC

It's almost as if Durant's number one priority is to play basketball.

Funny that LeBron, who is so caught up with managing his public image, just got a lesson on how to do it from Durant, who is not.

Or maybe Durant knows if he waits one more year, a max deal won't be nearly as much as 5/85

he committed for the full 5 years, no out-clause after 4

I find it funny how Wade and Bosh stated that this decision wasn't about money and it was "all about winning." If it truly was all about winning, wouldn't their best chance have been to team up with an established core in Chicago? Unless LeBron goes to Miami, they are by no means the class of the Eastern Conference.

Yeah I really wanted Bosh, and I feel like the Bulls just didn't go that hard after him (especially after statements like "Boozer is our Top Target!!!" ) So this is pretty bad. On the brightside it means there probably wont be a super team, Miami will be good but not great, wherever Lebron goes can't be much better, so we still got a shot in the East with a few shrewd moves.

[expletive] Bulls. You just couldn't get your head out of your asses and get Bosh, could you?

I suppose its really just Bosh wanting to play with Wade (and 9 other scrubs!), though and I am clear of biases here, if he really wanted to win he'd be going to Chicago.

Hard to believe Toronto wouldn't take a S&T from us but seeked one out from the Cavs who...have far less appealing trade pieces.

Oh well, lets keep our last hopes alive now

I'm withholding judgment until I see where James goes. I still say Chicago is the best place for him if he wants to win. If he goes to Miami it will be James/Bosh/Wade and then a bunch of minimum salary scrubs. They'll compete, but they will have absolutely NO depth on their bench. If he goes to New York he'll get all the money and fame he wants but I'm not sure that Stoudamire/James is going to be enough to win anything. However, if he comes to Chicago he'll have James/Rose/Noah plus plenty of money to go out and get either Lee or Boozer and maybe another role player or two. Not to mention they already have Deng under contract; not that that's a huge draw, but it's more than Miami has.

Is Bosh being S&Ted or do we not know that yet?

Anyway, let's get David Lee.

It sounds like the Bulls are targeting Carlos Boozer.

We don't know yet. From what I've read is that Bosh will go to Miami either way. Either as a S&T 6 year max, or as a 5 year max without Toronto's help. Apparently Riley wants Bosh to just go for the 5 year max...

That's really only true for this year and somewhat next year. As time goes on, their bench will fill out and they'll likely have plenty of depth to go along with the 3 stars and that's a much better situation than any other of the cities can offer. Of course, the money is not likely to work out to let all 3 of them come in the first place.

If Bosh walks for a 5 year deal with no S&T I'm not sure the talking point that the Bulls did everything to get him holds water anymore.

Of course Bosh has to agree to it but a Joakim Noah package is way better than a Michael Beasley package. Although I've come around to the idea that signing Boozer/Lee outright is better anyway.

I like Lee better at this point.

He's younger, less injury risk, and while he's been horribad defensively he tries hard. I think he could go from awful to not terrible on D under Thibs and playing his real position in a defensive oriented system.

Of course Miami can win with James/Wade/Bosh. Only a matter of time. But does LeBron really want to do that? Play with 2 other all stars on a team everyone EXPECTS to win? Dilute his stats? Will he really go down in history as one of the greatest ever if he does that? And can it even happen from a money standpoint?

In my very biased pro-Bulls opinion, the Bulls are still the best option for him. LeBron, Boozer/Lee, with Rose and Noah will destroy Miami and be a championship contender. Let's see if LeBron is smart enough to realize this.

I still put some weight on the argument that Lebron wouldn't want to team up with Bosh/Wade because he wouldn't be a clear cut #1 guy. It was even leaked that Prokhorov said it would dilute his brand.

So you've already reached stage 5 on the Kübler-Ross model? Congrats.
