OH SNAP

News that should make Bulls' fans happy on espn.com shortly.

2 minutes ago via web

ESPN 1000 Just said that Boozer has comitted for 5/80 to the bulls. That is quite good news and if Lebron hasnt decided yet that should increase our chances.

I don't see how that really helps the Bulls chances. Did Lebron think they weren't going to sign anybody this entire offseason?

So does Boozer actually make Bulls fans happy?

Not unless LEbron changes his name to Boozer.

That tax story twitter guy seems to think his name is BJ.

The only BJ right now in the NBA that I know of is Brandon Jennings.

....dun dun DUNNNN!

Because Rose, Boozer, Noah, Deng is far more appealing than Stoudemire and Gallinari or Mo Williams, Varejao and Jamison.

That's the thinking, at least.

But wasn't it a foregone conclusion that it was going to be Mumbles, Bozo, Deng, and Lee/Boozer?

Does anyone think Lebron is changing his mind at the last minute for Carlos Boozer?

Why would James want to compete with Jordan's legacy in Chicago?

Because Bulls fans want him to.

Because somebody has to eventually if basketball is ever going to be successful in Chicago again.

Because people will get bored if he doesn't.

Because the concept of competing with Jordan's legecy is pretty silly.

Ego.

First things first. He has to win a championship. That ain't happening in NYC anytime soon. Chciago would be a perfect setup for him to win many championships.

The concept of attempting to build your brand in the same city as the most famous basketball brand of all time seems silly to me

The concept of attempting to build your brand without winning championships in a city just because Jordan didn't play there seems silly to me.

My biggest concern about a full term Boozer deal is similar to my concern about a max Joe Johnson deal. It'll be regretted by year 3, and Boozer is more injury prone than Johnson.

Still better than nobody, I suppose.

Well yeah, I said it was dumb. He'd be better off with the Clippers

The oddest thing about the Boozer deal is that it's not quite a max deal, and leaves just enough room for another max contract without having to unload any contracts. So at least the Bulls think they are still in play for LeBron.

Non-LBJ chatter:

Do you think the Bulls will go for a low or mid budget 2, now? That's the last priority (assuming missing out on a LeBrorgasm), right? I like Anthony Morrow.

If Lebron goes to the Knicks, and the Bulls sign a shooter like Morrow or Redick, Ill put the Bulls up against any team in the East and like their chances. Lebron goes to Miami all bets are off, but signing Boozer makes the Bulls better, and a shooter makes them even more better. Rose and Boozer on the pick and roll should be pretty damn effective

This is what is confusing me about max deals. 5/80 is 16m per. Amare got 5/99.7 or nearly 20m per. The Atlanta guy got 6/119, nearly 20m per.

What the heck is a max contract? Is it fluid for every player?

LeBron goes to Miami, they might as well award the titles for the next 5 years now.
