It's clear Lou is tired of "Chicago" and thus the two sides should agree to a buyout and send Lou to his retirement village. They won't because of the stubbornness and ego of all parties involved, but it would be the right thing to do.

"chicago"?

I didn't mean to quote Chicago, but I do think he longs of retiring back to his home in Tampa.

Tampa sounds great to me. Can we trade managers? :beg:

@CarrieMuskat Lou spoke to #Cubs players after loss. "We've done everything that I can humanly do to get this thing turned around. That's all I can do."

Inside the Ivy speculating that it could mean Lou is resigning.

Lou retiring or being fired really isn't going to change anything. I don't see it as being anything to get that worked up about.

Yep. Let me know when Hendry quits and I'll start paying attention.

That is quite a stretch. Lou may be frustrated, but his comments after the game today in no way indicate to me that he would resign. As we've seen in the past, he often says things out of frustration and then completely changes his tune by the next morning.

All the more reason to fire Lou NOW and hire Gonzalez before the Braves get to him.

I wish they'd fire Lou now, but it appears that no amount of anything is going to make that happen.

If Lou died they'd probably go all weekend at bernie's on us rather than fire him.

I'll throw up if I see Jonathan Silverman in the dugout

But he's so good at math.

i haven't been paying much attention to the cobs so i don't know if there's a reason for this..... but why is fontenot at short and theriot at 2b today? i mean, forget the fact that castro isn't in. why are their positions switched?

basically just wondering if there's an actual reason for this, or if it's just lou doin his thing

When Castro came up Lou said that Fontenot would continue to be the backup at SS because they wanted Theriot to become fully acclimated at 2B without switching back and forth.
