that last 3 pointer was hilariously awesome

It was one of the dumbest and most ill-advised shots I could imagine. It was worse than McConnell's banked-in three earlier today.

I'll say it again: 2010 Kansas=2006 UConn. Ultra-talented, disinterested teams. Such teams don't win the title. Of course, I'm a moron and didn't learn my lesson and picked Kansas to win it all (Onuaku's knee freaked me out, ugh).

My bracket is on the left.

I was just thinking that if I had a paper bracket, I'd be preparing to set it on fire

That's was my thought as well which is why I posted it. My bracket is toast. Although so are many others. Saw an ESPN thing where either 31.7% or 41.7% (can't remember which) picked Kansas to win it all which is the highest percentage since they have had brackets on their site.

42.2 percent is what I saw.

I had Ohio State. I love it. Incredible.

I prefer calling it cold blooded.

That loud pop everybody just heard was brackets being busted everywhere (including mine). I wasn't going to win cash anyway, so I love it.

how are your 4th and 5th favorite brackets doing

I prefer to call it a sharp shooter being wide open and getting time to get completely set and thus it being a pretty good shot. I would say that shot had as much chance of going in as if he pulled it back and they tried to get a 2.

I think I could still win some money if the championship game was somehow BYU vs. Wisconsin. Oh well, I'll probably enjoy the games more now that I don't have to worry about my horrible bracket.

According to the data, 39.96 percent of users believe that KU will be cutting down the nets in Indianapolis.

Incredible. Hopefully UNI is this year's George Mason. Go Panthers!

UNI was an extremely under-seeded team. They probably should've been a 5 seed and instead, they were a 9.

Great job of representing the MVC today. I don't care that my bracket's dead. That game was completely worth it.

what was so dumb about it? they couldn't run the clock down all the way anyway, so they were going to have to shoot it at some point. a wide open 3 by that guy was as good as they were likely going to get. their last few possessions where they ran the shot clock down resulted in nothing.

i agree with snood...that was a bad matchup for KU. i knew uni would at least keep it close.

I could place in both of my pools (got Syracuse winning one over Kentucky, and Kentucky winning over Kansas in another) I have BYU over Kansas St. tonight, which would be a big game for me, but I have a feeling Kansas St. runs them out of the gym.

by the way...i haven't been paying much attention before the uni game...has the "the big east is such a rugged gauntlet that it really prepares for the tourney" line been replaced with "the big east is such a rugged gauntlet that it wears you out for the tourney; ergo the big east is the best conference in america" yet?

No, it's been replaced with the "Andy doesn't want to talk about it because he's taking epic amounts of abuse for being the most vocal Big East fan on the board" line.

It's a weird feeling to know you have the best team and not get a chance to play for the championship. But the fact is, we looked terrible. And Collins played an awful game. We had so many moments to crack through. If Henry would have hit those FTs to bring us to within one, I think UNI cracks and we win the game. Instead, he clanged the front end.

And we never did figure out that they were going to slide in for charges the entire game.

Farokhmanesh... dude's mom was the volleyball coach at Iowa. Lickliter turned him down several times.

False.

Lickliter wasn't here when he was in high school. He went JUCO because he only had D-2 offers. By the time Lick got here his mom was fired and irate at the university. He wasn't going to Iowa if we offered. Oh and UNI was his only D-1 offer.

I'm of the opinion that it's better to get as much time off the clock as possible to set up a high percentage shot. Farokmanesh had missed a number of three point shots in a row (something like 6) and didn't even have any points in the second half until he hit that shot. It's a great shot in hindsight, but if he missed that, it would have set up very nicely for Kansas.

Still, it was a fantastic result and a great win for UNI.

The only real negative to the UNI game is that Iowa fans everywhere will now want Jake to be hired at Iowa. Even though he and Lickliter are practically the same guy.
