Well, 3-5 today, but I doubt all that many people did better. And three of my Final Four are still alive - which I'm betting is about as many as anyone. Only one person in my pool still has his Final Four intact, and he put Butler in there.

If Kansas State would actually miss free throws, like they did all year, BYU would still have an outside chance here. But since they decided to not miss a free throw and shoot 3's out of their asses its been over for a while.

I gotta admit, I enjoyed a good measure of schadenfreude at the outcome of UNI-KU game. Suck it Sherron Collins and Bill Self, watch the Illini on Monday and quite probably beyond, it's only the NIT. But, at least they're still playing.

Yeah suck it. We were both No. 1 overall seeds but we are still alive ... err wait you were the No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament instead of NIT. Damn.

 

The way I look at it the Illini playing in the NIT is a plus, they're most likely going to play in at least two more games. Getting Paul, Richardson and Griffey more playing time buildng towards the future. Even had they made the NCAA they probably would have been bounced in the 1st or 2nd round - next few seasons are for the NCAA FF, etc.

Pitt or Xavier probably could give them a game, but yeah they aren't getting past Syracuse. That zone will kill them, they aren't a good 3 point shooting team (tonight was a giant fluke). Plus they will have Onuaku back who is better than any big man BYU has.

Sure it is a benefit to get those guys playing time. It's not that you are excited about the games in the NIT or even that you are happy Kansas lost. It's the comment about Self watching Illinois play since his team is done already that I found humorous. It's like a guy in fantasy football making fun of the regular season champ for being upset because your team won and will be playing in the consolation bracket championship.

Sweet 16 for Tennessee is nice. We didn't play great today, but we played well enough to win.

 

Not sure which team between OSU and Georgia Tech would be a better matchup for us, either will be quite tough.
