I kinda like Greg Marshall

 

He's probably better than Jacobson, but again, uninspiring.

Does it really matter who they hire anymore? Mizzou has zero recruits for this year, and six seniors next year with no replacements in place. Mike Anderson fucked this program. I hope they make the tourney next year, because it will probably be the last time for a while.

Mizzou was just the leverage Painter needed to get everything he wanted from Purdue. A couple of hours ago I was convinced he was gone and I STILL think he was an inch away from leaving or maybe even decided to and had a last second change of heart.

 

Hoepfully, after the short-term angst, Purdue's basketball program really benefits from this. If Painter can keep his assistants, and has more dough to recruit (and a new 8 year contract with NO GET OUT OF TOWN EARLY CLAUSE) he can hopefully keep the momentum going from his 2012 and 2013 classes.

 

Hell, maybe he can even get us to a Final Four some day.

Sounds to me like some pro wrestling "we were together all along" [expletive] going on here. Even brought in old man Keady to throw fans off the scent. Now they have all your money and there's not a thing you can do about it.

 

ETA: Mizzou just got powerbombed through a table

 

ETA: Now they're getting spray-painted

 

ETA: Garbage filling up the ring.

 

ETA: Gene Keady says suck it

I feel for Mizzou fans. But yeah, if that was their aim, they've gotten to me. I know a lot of my alumni friends are pissed and will continue to be - but my friends are cheap anyway (like me) so it's not like they were going to donate to begin with, haha.

There's Columbia reporters saying that Painter turned Mizzou down, plus Parrish, Katz, and some Purdue people. He's staying.

 

too bad for mike anderson. he probably would have had some interest in the purdue job.

Believe it or not, I found a new name to toss into the Oklahoma coach search derby.

A source confirmed Wednesday night that there appears to be mutual interest between OU and the 8-year Illinois coach. It's making a few rounds in the coach carousel industry.

 

Paul Klee (Champaign beat writer) mentioned it as a job he'd be more likely to take than Purdue when it was assumed Painter was gone. I don't get it at all.
