KSU wouldn't have won this game regardless, but I have seen a prime example of home court homerism tonight by the zebras.

After Mizzou pushed the game out of reach I checked the box score and Mizzou had 2 fewer fouls and had shot 1 fewer FT. Plus K-State is a pretty foul happy team in general.

The final foul on Southwell was a foul before he pushed off, the 10 second violation still showed 26 seconds on the shot clock, multiple no calls on rebounds. I understand we shot more freethrows, but there were many more no calls on Mizzou than on KSU. I'm not making excuses, as I said it wouldn't have impacted the outcome of the game. We're a terrible team right now regardless. Lucky if we go to the NIT.

the fact mizzou is EVER called for fewer fouls than the other team is a joke. All they do is reach in and slap, reach in and slap. Fran even said to prepare for Mizzou, make sure your scout team hacks a lot. Their philosophy is hack all the time, the refs can't call all of them.

It wasn't, however, the difference in this game.

It gets boring when you copy/paste the same whining from the last time you complained about Mizzou's defense. Even if Mizzou homered KSU out of the building, it would probably be justified after what happened to them at aTm. But they didn't, and the complaints ring especially hollow from KSU, whose idea of help defense is having three 6-10 guys trying to bludgeon you after you walk past their guards.

if their defensive style hasn't changed, why should I change my complaint about it? Don't see you denying it. KSU is pretty hacky, too. Like I said, it wasn't the difference in the game today. And Mizzou was on the short end of some calls at aTm. But still..reach, hack, slap, repeat.

I'm not really interested in evangelizing to a Kansas fan on how much Mizzou fouls compared to other defenses, especially when you've got the "they can't call all of them" excuse at the ready. Mizzou probably fouls more than average, but I don't buy this claim that they're inherently worse just because they pressure the ball at all times, when the "they can't call all of them" applies to most teams and how they grab, clutch, and shove around the basket.

Maurice Creek has a stress fracture in his right patella, out indefinitely. Not the same knee he hurt last season. Oh well.

This might end up being the best thing for both Creek and Indiana long-term. He was still aiming his shots and now he hopefully won't favor one leg over the other when he rehabs this time.

And unfortunate as it is to say but Indiana becomes a better team for the rest of the Big 10 season without Creek. They really needed him to be dynamic to be a pretty good team this year and instead he was a liability on the court.

It's been a terrible road for him but hopefully this helps him come back stronger next season.

I've got to jump in here. I was at the game today and there were many bad calls that favored both teams. I lost count of how many bad calls I saw today. I remember seeing many questionable (and some just plain bad) shooting fouls called in the first half when K-State was shooting on the end where I was 6 rows off the court. Not to mention there were three really bad charge calls on Mizzou early in the game that all should have been either blocks or no calls. Also, Safford was called for a foul when going up for a rebound with a K-State player draped over his back. How does that happen? There was a shooting foul called on a Mizzou defender on what clearly should have been a jump ball. Also, I can't remember if it was Bowers or Ricardo that drove to the hoop on the opposite end of the court and you could clearly hear a slap as he went up and no foul was called. Frank wasn't even going that crazy at the officials (in comparison to his normal antics). Believe me, when a bad call goes against Frank, he goes nuts. To act like there was any homerism today is just ridiculous. It was just another poorly officiated Big XII game. Save the whining for your kU game. There will be plenty of homerism there.

i just realized how much i hate every team in the big 12.

Oklahoma State is pretty inoffensive now that Sutton's gone. And I can't understand wasting any time hating Nebraska or Colorado basketball

Cole Aldrich made a career on hacking.

KU fans have integrity, so they were always disappointed with the way Aldrich used to manhandle people, and thrilled when he decided to declare for the draft.

Missouri teams have more uncalled hacks in a half than CA did in his whole career.

That'd be hard to do, seeing as how Aldrich's entire game was built on pummeling players of lesser quality. His skills have really translated to the NBA, too.

Couldn't have described Mizzou better myself.

The youtube video displaying their absurd facilities is enough.
