Eh, they missed calls both ways like usual (DJ Byrd got kicked in the face at one point with no call). That last call was obviously a game changer, but so were some of the earlier ones. PSU is something stupid, like 99% from the free throw line over the last couple weeks. Talor Battle IS a godless chucker (you almost want him to have the ball when he's bricking absurd 25 foot jumpers with a defender in his face). He hurt them more than he helped last night and was far from the best player on the floor for PSU.

I kinda expected that. aTm's only true road game has been at Oklahoma, which is to say they haven't played a true road game.

I wasn't expecting a win, but I thought we could at least keep it close.

 

I wonder if Thompson will stay one more year, he has his best friend coming in next season in Myck Kobongo giving them a TJ Ford type PG. If he does Texas should be preseason top 5.

If they keep playing like this they will be Top 5 before the end of the month.

 

 

 

Texas is really good, and they've been getting better all season. Very nervous about Saturday's game. I'd say that team has the most NBA talent in the Big 12, and somehow Rick Barnes hasn't effed it up yet.

What other missed call was a "game-changer" like a change of possession for the team leading with 5 seconds left?!?

 

Try to be objective here, a missed foul call (which I will be honest, I didn't see, nor remember hearing the awful commentators mention) is vastly different than a ball knocked out of bounds right in front of the ref (which the awful commentators talked about right as it happened). The look on Moore's face should've said it all; he knew he hit it out.

 

And that 4th foul called on Andrew Jones standing straight up when Johnson initiated contact negates whatever missed foul call you think happened to Byrd (who could have sealed the game with an easy put-back but instead went for the highlight and bricked a dunk).

 

And for the record, I'm not saying the ref cost PSU the game, but he certainly didn't get the call right, but that happens in bball. Jones leaving Johnson WIDE open on that inbounds is the real head-scratcher.

He did spend most of the offseason in Utah with Jerry Sloan trying to replecate what they do, so I will give him some credit there in seeing that he needed to change. After last years debacle its nice to see them doing well. Usually Texas-Kansas is a good game, but I don't like the chances on the road.

I think he is a poor recruiter. I think that was proven until we added Jerrance and we will see it again when Jerrance leaves for his own gig. I also think that he is a poor game coach because of his being stubborn and refusing to adapt. I do think he develops point guards well. But that's about it. I'm sorry that I won't just accept him as the coach at Illinois. He's been horrible since Dee Brown and James Augustine graduated. I think it is offensive he is still employed.
