pretty impressive that psu was right in this game until the end despite battle repeatedly throwing up bricks from outside the arc.

Yeah, 1 for 9 from three is not like him at all.

What could have been....

I don't understand why Sullinger can initiate contact and then its a foul on the defender almost every time.

That last one they blew the whistle before he even initiated the contact. It was like they knew he was going to shoot the ball so they called the foul

38-37 in Big Ten games since Dee brown left campus. So we are prolly gonna be sub.500 after these next 2 games. How does anyone think this guy isn't in over his head?

KSU played the best they have all year today with Kelly back. Too bad the momentum won't matter on Monday at Mizzou. We'll lose a good game there. Oh, and I do agree, Big 12 officials blow.

IU wins a Big Ten game! Whew. Led by double digits pretty much the entire game, 20+ at times. How can Michigan play teams like Kansas and Ohio State close and then just suck that bad against IU? I mean I am glad they sucked but still, it is perplexing. :P

What the hell was going on in that Illinois/Wisconsin game? Illinois shoots 36 FT's compared to 37 2's and Wisconsin shoots 41 FT's compared to 26 2's. McCamey shoots 21 and Taylor shoots 18? Meanwhile Illinois shoots 30% from the field and Wisconsin shoots 39%. That had to have been a painful game to watch.

How about this Charles Jenkins from Hofstra? He's averaging 23.5, 4.6 assists (to 2 turns) and 3.6 boards. But the guy is shooting 51% from 3, 62% from 2 and 85% from the FT line while also having an assist rate over 31 and turnover rate of 13. Top offensive rating in the country among guys using 24%+ of their possessions. Edited by hawkeyecub

This is all sorts of confusing.

Fixed it.

Also interesting is that St. Mary's is the #1 shooting team in the country and they're 7th in lowest turnover percentage. As a team they're shooting 42% from 3 (7th) and 57% from 2 (3rd).

The best Notre Dame can do is 9-9 in the Big East. I don't know what it is, but this team just turns into a giant [expletive] show when they're on the road.

I beginning to think that as well, just lost to two games to teams combined still wouldn't match Illinois talent and athleticism. And that's not a knock on Wisconsin just don't think it's one of their better teams. His teams continually lack preparedness, do not hustle, he keeps playing Mike Davis when Davis decides to take a game off, such as yesterday, I'm ready for him to be replaced.

When Greg Demery realized the ticket he'd bought from a scalper for last Saturday's game between North Carolina and Virginia was two rows behind the Cavaliers bench, he couldn't believe his good fortune.

"I thought, 'How did I get this lucky to get this ticket?'" the lifelong Tar Heels fan recalled. "This low to the court? This never happens to me.'"

Unfortunately for Demery, he didn't keep his seat long enough to watch lineup introductions from up close, let alone the game.

Before the 46-year-old Arlington, Va. resident had time to remove his Carolina blue coat, a security guard approached and told Demery he couldn't sit in that section of John Paul Jones Arena wearing Tar Heels colors. Soon afterward, another Virginia staffer asked to see his ticket to verify that it was legitimate. And finally, associate athletic director Jason Bauman escorted Demery from his seat and relocated him to another seat 17 rows higher in the lower bowl.

"I couldn't believe it," Demery said. "I'm sitting there hoping to enjoy the game courtside and I thought it was going to work out great and in a matter of 15 minutes, it changed. I just was shaking my head thinking, 'How is this possible? How are they allowed to get away with this?'"

Bauman feels bad that Demery's new seat wasn't as close to the court as his original, but he doesn't intend to alter Virginia's policy and doesn't regret anything else about how he handled the incident.

I wonder if this has anything to do with Roy having the fans removed for holding up a mean sign about his holes a year back or so?

I just don't see us getting this turned around again under him. We looked great when he was coaching Deron Williams. Well Deron Williams was the best player in college by far at that point, even though he didn't try to put up gaudy numbers. He has struggled recruiting that seems fixed, but now he is struggling to adapt to these talented kids. I just don't see it happening. I think it's time to move on.

It's the same argument over and over with Bruce. Losing sucks, but there's no way Guenther fires him. He's got the talent now, and if he doesn't adapt within the next two years then he's gone. Until then the jury is still out.

This team is what it is. Soft. If they don't hit shots, they don't win. Its that simple. I'm in no way ready to give up on the season, and think we will make the tournament easily.

I think we lose three of our next four and the pressure really starts to heat up.

I can somewhat live with losses to the quality teams but, it's the losses to Bradley, Utah, UIC, Penn State and Minnesota that piss me off, losses simply because the other team wanted it more. Not because they had better basketball players but, because they hustled to lose balls and took it to the Illini. Un-excusable, should almost never happen, don't recall it happening much when Lou, Lon or even Self were charge.

Are Big Ten basketball officials the worst in all of sports? I hate them so much.

I think that was the first game all year where I felt like we got really homered in a meaningful way that may have changed the outcome. They shot 37 free throws to our 11 despite the fact that we attacked the hoop and got it inside just as much as they did. But no, all 12 of their blocks were legit, including the ones where we got knocked to the floor. Right.

It would be nice to have officials work a game where they had no pre-conceived notions about individual players and just called it objectively. Mbakwe should have been called for about 10 fouls but we get whistled for touch [expletive]. He fouls on nearly every rebound but he has a rep of being a good rebounder so it never gets called. It's just like the [expletive] with Sullinger.

Anyways that was a good effort. When Mel gets consistent he's gonna be a stud. 20 and 13 tonight on 12 shots. It's like he just gets hyped up for these games against really good big men and outplays them but then can't get it going against others. We only had 4 guys score which is incredible. Matt picked a bad night to have a poor shooting game. He had more open looks tonight than he's had all year but he couldn't hit. And when will he learn how to drive without getting blocked?

Purdue lost another close road game. Back to back losses by a combined 7 points. *ugh*

At least this latest one doesn't count in the Big Ten standings. Maybe a little slide at this point is good for them based on how comfortable they were getting beating up the bottom third of the Big Ten. Absolutely have to beat Penn St. at home on Wednesday.
