Texas missed a ton of free throws, but they also made everything from mid range and used their height advantage on the offensive boards like I've never seen. They played in such a way that Mizzou could have won, but they did not play poorly by any stretch.

Mizzou probably won't win a game the rest of the year and Anderson's going to leave for some other crap school and we'll have to start all over.

Don't worry. You can have Melvin Watkins take over.

after giving up an open 3 to tie it in regulation, iowa state fails to get a shot off on their last possession that started with 35 seconds left.

that's three conferences losses in which they've led with 1 minute or less left. starting to think ol' hoiberg may be in over his head right now.

given the state of the program he inherited, that's a pretty glass half-empty point of view. You should definitely be pissed about losing to a terrible OU team, but I think overall Hoiberg has done a good job.

That'll help the old RPI.

I wonder what the polls will look like tomorrow with so much carnage having taken place this week.

Lewis Jackson is averaging 10 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.7 assists in Big Ten play. Not bad for being the smallest guy on the floor pretty much every game. I was not expecting much out of him at the start of the year.

Playing Michigan is so annoying. Iowa is actually playing better defense than they have in the Big Ten but then they hit a bomb 3 with the shot clock under four. 17 of their 30 shots are 3's, that qualifies as godless chuckers.

Iowa scored 73 points in a 65 possession game and still lost by 14. Our perimeter defense is atrocious. Still, those chuckers were shooting the game of their lives. Vogrich and Smotrycz were 6-7 from 3 and Hardaway (29% this year) was 5-10.

I really think they need a purging of the Lickliter holdovers or at least enough new guys to flush the loser mentality. They're front runners who are rarely in front. When anything goes wrong the old guys just have awful body language and throw in the towel. It's always the new guys that spark the run and keep playing.

Is Michigan St. going to even make the tournament? They're down double digits to IU in the first half.

Jeremiah Rivers hit a 3 pointer.

If IU would hit their free throws...

Yep. Rivers cost us possibly 3 points at the end of regulation by missing the front end of a one-and-one and then splitting a two shot foul. Watford also missed 3 free throws tonight which is uncharacteristic of him. Missed opportunity. Oh well.

Crean was shitty as usual with the Xs and Os. Up 4 with under 2 minutes to go, and he comes out in a zone defense. Lucas nails a 3 and cuts the lead to 1. From there, Michigan St could do whatever they wanted offensively as it was never again a 2 possession game.

You gotta play man in that situation and force them to take a contested shot or run some clock if they are going to get a layup. Then you score to go back up 4 or you force them to foul earlier.

Bradley is awful. 0-11 in MVC play. Maybe we should play D3 schools.

It seemed like Les' strategy yesterday was to make the margin of defeat as narrow as he could by completely slowing down the pace of the game, even when they were down 10 in the 2nd half, and needing to score some quick buckets to get back in the game. I didn't understand it. Of course, with T Brown and Sam M out their hopes of having a good year took a big blow, but you figured that they would have enough depth to at least be decent in a down MVC. How much longer does Les last?

I don't know, but if they do they will probably make an elite 8 run, per the Izzo standard.

Wally Judge has left the K-State program. What a disaster of a season for them.
