Well looking at the next 4 we have

@ IU

@NW

PSU

@ Min

We need to go 3-1 in that stretch or we are 6-5. With @MSU, @OSU and @ Purdue to go. 10-8 is happening.

In my opinion, here is the good from today: If we play the rest of the season like today, we win the next four and maybe lose only two more games. We won't see another Sullinger type player this year and we shouldn't send another team to the line 27 times. OSU is the class of the Big Ten.

I'm just gonna see what happens. But, I have a bad feeling we are gonna be sweating on Selection Sunday again.

What an impressive comeback by the horns. I hope KU can pull this one out.

K-State goes down again. Apparently the A&M students were chanting "NIT" at Pullen at the end of the game.

When it comes to basketball I really dislike Kstate and Baylor.

this one is over. hate to see the home win streak end, but this team has skated by too long. Losing the big lead might help us i future games.

FTs were the difference. UT got to the line more, and they made them. Feel for Thomas Robinson. The last thing he needed today was a loss too.

Texas was Memphis bad from the line last year. This is a very welcomed change.

so missouri just hacks the hell out of you for the entire game and banks on the fact that the refs don't have the nerve to call 87 fouls on them. not that it matters since iowa state could not have played worse, but geez.

Purdue's fans in Mackey have to be among the most annoying in the country. Every single foul (or no call on the offensive end) is met with the same resounding complaints.

Pretty much. I thought Purdue was fairly likable when Painter first got there but they've gotten progressively more annoying.

Nice revenge win for ND over Marquette. I never would've guessed when he showed up that Ben Hansbrough would be the heart and soul of the team, though maybe I should have. It helped that Marquette's 3-half long streak of shooting an absurd percentage from distance against the Irish ended in the second half.

Please win today Iowa. I just want to see a win. Attendance will probably be worse than it would have been because it starts at the same time as Bears/Packers. Perfect for me though, now I can completely avoid that disgrace.

What do Indiana fans think of Crean? I know he's had pretty strong support the last couple of years bu I can't imagine that getting dominated by Iowa in year three is the most promising thing.

Wow Indiana's defense is really awful. Fun game though.

It doesn't help when Roth and Moore are on the floor at the same time, lol. Ohhhh. :?

Well we just lost two players (Mo Creek and Verdell Jones) to injury so...I don't know. I still think Crean could have managed the rotations better today. But our bench is painfully thin on talent now.

I think most IU fans give Crean credit for being a great recruiter but at the same time think the book is still open on what kind of a coach he is. Personally I don't think he has gotten the most out of the team this season (even before the injuries) so I am disappointed. But getting Cody Zeller to commit is going to buy Crean some degree of slack from the fans. Now if we suck this bad next season with Cody on the team then folks won't be happy at all.

The scary thing to me is that next year's team is essentially going to be the same roster as this season except for adding Zeller. And while I think Cody will be a really good player, he isn't going to come in and singlehandedly turn the thing around. So whatever issues have been holding back the current group of kids from developing more quickly, Crean has gotta figure that out over the summer. This season most of the fanbase was expecting a run at NIT eligibility (15-16 total wins) and that just ain't happening now.

Edit - I forgot we add Austin Etherington too but I don't think he is an instant impact player. Just another wing player.

While technically his third season, this is really more like Crean's second season. The first season he merely drained the swamp and had no time to recruit, other than a makeshift class. His was not a normal rebuilding job. He only has two legitimate classes on campus now, with four strong classes lined up the next four years. The natives will definitely get (more) restless if next year isn't an improvement (and it's by no means a lock to be much better). This team should be better, in my opinion, but he has built up equity with his recent recruiting successes.

I think at one point today he may have had Roth, Moore, Rivers, Capobianco and Elston. From the stands I can give the scouting report. Capobianco is only going to get garbage points, Moore isn't going to shoot (he then passed immediately when open), Roth can't do anything but shoot open 3's (Gatens stayed tight to him) and Rivers can't shoot (played off him and he eventually drove).

Creek's career is probably done. I mean, he'll get back on the court, but his career as an effective basketball player is over. 2 dislocated kneecaps when he hadn't even come back 100% from the 1st.
