Very encouraging second half for Indiana. After the abysmal first half, the past two years IU would have lost by 25-30. They made a big run but couldn't get over the hump. Much improved team this year. I do wonder why if you make a run with Jones on the bench (and Pritchard for the most part), you sub him/them back into the game late . . . Oh well.

Yeah, played really well in the 2nd offensively. Still gave up 45 on D though. Only 3 TOs in the 2nd half. Boarded better. Shot much better. Moved the ball much better (10 assists to 5 in the 1st half). Watford is much better than he was last year. Rivers is much more under control. Creek is coming back to form.

Yeah our offense isn't going to be good enough to overcome terrible defense. That and if Hulls is going to play the way he did last night I don't think VJIII needs to be running the point anymore. His assist/turnover ratio is just bad. Dude is a scorer, let him run off screens to get some shots instead of handling the basketball.

Still don't think Knight was the one who encouraged Illinois to miss a free throw up 3 points?

You're a good color guy Bobby, but learn to count.

Knight's senile, but I am telling you it was his partner that night.

One hell of a coincidence that he does the same thing his partner did that night. O' Brien followed Knight's lead and asked about it after Knight brought it up. Only after Illinois made that 2nd free throw did Knight backtrack and say the game was over anyway.

I do think VJIII is more dangerous scoring with the ball than off of screens. And Hulls is still deadly w/ the catch and shoot. But you can still go to that when necessary. The base offense should not be Jones running the offense. If you need some points and Watford isn't on the floor, then get the ball to Jones in the half court and isolate.

Was Wisconsin that good or was NC State that bad?

A little of both. Wisconsin got a lead, NC State's best player wasn't dressed for the game, and after they got up by about 12 or 15, NC State just kind of quit trying. As tough as Wisconsin's defense is to score on when you're going 100%, they're impossible to score against when you aren't. NC State went like 15 straight possessions without scoring at the end of the first and start of the second.

Why is it when one plays Duke (outside of the ACC) it must either be at a neutral site or Cameron?

Well in 2008 and 2009 Duke played in Mackey Arena and the Kohl Center for the challenge respectively.

Yeah they finally went into true road venues. I wish with Sergio and Frankie we would have got them to come to Assembly Hall.

The Pac-10 is 14th in RPI - behind the Southland and the Mid American conferences. And barely ahead of the Ivy League.

It's ridiculous considering the conference had (I believe) 6 future lottery picks back in 2008.

Duke has also played at Assembly Hall (IU version) in the challenge, I believe.

Yeah in the final year of Mike Davis....the game where Marco Killingsworth lit up Duke for 30+ points and got to pretend to be a good player for a week or two.

Shooting 71% and still losing. Too many turnovers, poor FT shooting and no weakside defense.

I count 1 non-challenge road game against a BCS school for Duke in the last 9 years, and it was the 2009 Michigan trip. There's been 4 challenge road games in that span.

Josh Smith gets called for the some horrible fake fouls. None of his 3 fouls thus far were fouls on him.

UCLA holding their own, but has got to cut down on the turnovers. Lazeric Jones is a good looking player though. Did he play JUCO last year? I seem to recall Wisconsin taking a look at him.

Yes. He transferred from John A. Logan in Carterville, IL.

The turnovers suck but so do the missed FTs.

That's right, SIU was trying to go after him (Carterville's like 10 minutes away from Carbondale). He would've been a great get, obviously.

Thankfully KU is just as brutal at the free throw line. And doesn't like to play defense.

Wait. Selby is using his KU scholarship money to repay his extra benefits? The NCAA is such a joke.
