A couple of the team schedules have been leaked. I already know that Carolina is opening up the new Meadowlands against the Giants, and they're also at Pittsburgh on the NFL Network Thursday night game Week 16.

Cowboys-Saints on Turkey Day

[expletive]

yes

Cowboys have a fun schedule outside of the East they get GB, Indi, the Saints, Minnesota, Tennessee, and Houston. The Bears and Jacksonville could be decent too.

Titans open with Oakland at home. I hope we don't start 0-6 again.

As long as the Titans' D catches a couple JaMarcus Russell passes, they'll be fine.

That's pretty questionable.

They could also bump him softly a couple times to force fumbles - that would work as well.

I'll definitely feel better if the ball doesn't get to our secondary.

John Clayton just said on ESPN’s “NFL Live” that the Raiders are preparing the process of cutting quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

Clayton said it is not a matter of if, but when Russell will be cut. He also said the team could release Russell before Oakland’s minicamp, which runs Friday through Sunday, and that there is no trade market for him. The Raiders will save more than $6 million if they cut Russell this year.

Bigger bust, him or Leaf?

Russell got a ton of money, but didn't most people think Leaf had a better future in the NFL?

Leaf was more highly thought of, I think. There were a lot of people who thought taking Jamarcus at #1 was a mistake. There were also a lot of people who thought the Colts should take Leaf instead of Peyton.

In all honesty, I think a team with some stability at QB should pick up Russell. He's still got fantastic physical tools and if given some time as a backup, it might be possible to get him motivated enough to improve. A team could, at least, develop itself a solid backup.

The only place JaMarcus Russell is motivated at is the dinner table.

Leaf is the bigger bust. I really thought he was going to be a good NFL QB as did a good percentage of football people. I think more people expected Jamarcus to be a bust than to be a stud.

Leaf and it ain't close. Not only did his sucked as a QB, but he was a major prick off the field. Jamarcus is just lazy and don't care, Leaf will he sucked as a player and as a person.

Just finished watching Run Ricky Run on espn. Interesting look to see how he has learned to control some of his issues over the years. Pretty well done documentary.

Simple. Offer him food for every touchdown pass he throws.

Or move him to right tackle.

half-joking.

I know that picking Russell was something that a lot of people said was a bad idea, but someone was going to take him. And that means someone was going to lose a ton of money. These rookie contracts have to be checked. It is just ridiculous that someone could get $40 million upfront without playing one down in the NFL. Half of NFL first round picks end up being busts. This is going to cause a lockout.

Walter Jones of Seattle retired today. Which of these phenomenal NFL left tackles was better: Pace or Jones?

Someone was going to take him, but not necessarily first. Quinn was the 2nd QB taken, about 20 picks later. Would you rather pay #1 pick money to Russell or #20 money to Quinn? So far, neither has shown much, but Russell has eaten himself out of the league.

While rookie contracts need some limits, imo, drafting Russell first was still stupid and many people thought so at the time. Throwing the ball 80 yards from your ass is only helpful if you're going to get so fat that you can't get off it.

Favre told ESPN's Ed Werder that his left ankle, which he injured in the NFC Championship Game, has continued to be painful and swollen for months. Favre visited Dr. James Andrews, who told him surgery will be unavoidable if he wants to play again.

It's time for Brett to hang it up.
