I've been re-submitting for the last 45 minutes or so. It's just cheap tickets, so screw it I"m going to lunch and revisiting later in the day. I haven't done any work at all today.

People who have gotten tickets, have you already gotten your confirmation email?

Just the first one. I'm waiting on three more.

This was the easiest year to get in, but, like most everyone else, I kept getting the "busy signal" and had to keep resending. Oh, well.

I'm almost there with you. Once again the Cubs follow their typical B.S. on ticket day. If you are out of the VWR it shouldn't take forever to buy a damn ticket. The 2nd waiting room is worst then the first for god sake. Yay, it just kicked me into the VWR again for their incompetence.

Why is this Cubs BS?

When you get passed the waiting room maybe they can have a server strong enough to actually allow you to buy a ticket with out getting kicked back to the VWR. Plus I'm getting frustrated. It's the last ticket and its a weekday game.

I don't see why that's Cubs BS. For about 1-2 hours on one day a year they have a huge amount of demand for a limited number of tickets. But it's not hard to get in and get a ticket. This isn't going on amazon and buying a book with virtually unlimited printings, or even the first day that tickets go on sale for the Pirates. I think all in all things are handled fairly well.

I got bleacher seats (I wanted Field Box) to the only reasonably priced May weekend game, May 15th v. Pirates. At least I have a decent shot at seeing them win and with all of the driving, they better.

Good luck to the rest of you.

I'm done, got a Bleacher ticket for May 25-29. Will be a fun 5 days. I still find it irritating that you can get in but have to wait forever in the 2nd waiting room. Good luck to every one else.

I got bleachers for May 15 as well. I also wanted better, but the reserved seating went fairly quick for that day. However, I got Row 3, Sec 131 for May 14th. I'm pretty excited about that.

But they need to find a process where its not so aggrivating for so many people.

If they have limited server capability then they need to find a way where all people get is the g*dda*mn "We're sorry, we were unable to process your request due to high transaction volumes. Please try to submit your request again." message after waiting for hours in a virtual waiting room.

1:30 and still nothing. Although I did turn down some of the $315 Dugout Box seats.

You should have bought them. Sold them. Then used to money to pay for a whole bundle of tickets...

I thought about doing this with the Angels game, got through for 6 of them accidentally. I didn't feel like taking a temporary $2200 hit, and I have no clue what the resale value on those things are. If only Mizzou were still around.

Yea, I can't imagine the profit margin on those things is very good. Face value tickets were routinely available last year (not necessarily for huge games... I don't really remember which ones, but I never had a problem pulling them up) on the day of the game.

The resale on dugout box is not as nice as you would think considering the price you pay. If you sell on ebay and get paid through paypal, it's hard to make much because they're going to take their percentage off the total price, not just what you make. The price of those seats is already high, so you don't make a great percentage of profit.

If you had row A, I could see being able to get your money back.

Rows B and C, though, and I'd be pretty surprised if you didn't lose money.

Posted
Yeah, I could see that. I'm sure buying and reselling infield box seats is probably the best way to make any money off of them because you can probably sell for much more than what you paid. There probably aren't too many people willing to spend that kind of money on regular season tix. Good thing I wasn't presented with that situation. I probably would have made the mistake and would now be kicking myself.

That was my thought. At $315 plus all the fees per ticket that was too big an outlay up front. Plus resale with a profit has to be tough.
