New BP hats

So apparently MLB has a new design for the batting practice hats again. I think most of em look like something you would find at a convenience store or walmart.

As the MLB official rule book (section 1.11) makes no explicit statement regarding the design and manufacture of BP caps (e.g. "during batting practice, all participants are to don caps composed of a cheap, water-proof mesh festooned with goofy piping"), I am left to interpret the annual production and sale of these caps as a display of contempt for the fans of baseball.

They do look a fair amount like those velcro-adjustible Nike fashion caps...

 

Not to worry, though, next year or in 2012 they'll introduce a new BP jersey design that everyone hates and by 2013, they'll have changed the BP hat design again and we can rail against that. :thumbsup:

I have the BP cap that was used through 06 and I don't ever plan on buying another BP cap again. The crap they're tossing around makes that even easier to follow.
