After consultation, the Jags choose to go with the best pass rusher on the board. Derrick Morgan is the best overall value here and is the best DE on the board. The Jags have received a visit from Aaron Kampman, but have not yet reached a deal.

Thus, the Jags select Derrick Morgan, DE, Georgia Tech. Mark Prior's Calves and the Broncos are now on the clock. I PMd him.

Run on safeties! Dolphins select S Earl Thomas from Texas. Dolphins felt there's a sharp dropoff after Thomas at the safety position, so they jumped on Thomas while he was available.

I think we both agreed that trading down in this scenario would've been ideal, but failing that Thomas gave us good value at a position that isn't deep in this draft.

Give me a sec to look at who Jame and I take for the 49ers. We each made a top 17 list and then averaged them together to get our picks. I need to look and see who the best available is.

Giants select Jason Pierre Paul, DE South Florida

That made the Titans' pick easier. We were down to whichever of JPP and Kyle Wilson fell to us. Wilson is probably the second best corner in the draft and, while the Titans have Ryan Mouton and are high on him, a second corner across from Finnegan is still needed. Mouton won't be ready to be that second corner this year and with Dunta Robinson off the market, there's not much in free agency corner-wise.

So, with the 16th pick in the draft, the Titans select Kyle Wilson, CB, Boise State. The 49ers, jame.gumb and CubbieBum are now on the clock. I'll PM them.

As said before, CubbieBum and I averaged our rankings. Fortunately, we were able to fill our two greatest needs with the BPA on our board in the first round.

After taking Haden at No. 13, we'll go with Rutgers OT Anthony Davis

Gotta say that if the draft really went this way I would be very happy. The 49ers would shore up the secondary and get a young corner that we need and then get the RT we badly need. With a good RT and Clements healthy I think we would have made playoffs and now we would have Haden added to that.

Been unavailable all day. I haven't talked to WF22, but I would go Iupati or Pouncey here. I like Pouncey a lot. He actually reminds me of former Steeler Dermonti Dawson.

The Falcons would have loved to get a cornerback here, but no good value on the board. The Falcons have big needs at LB and DE, too. Having said that, the Falcons quickly narrowed it down to three choices: Sean Weatherspoon, Brandon Graham, Sergio Kindle, and Everson Griffin. Kindle became the clear third choice pretty quickly while Griffin fell out of it and it came down to Weatherspoon and Graham.

After much deliberation, the Falcons decided to take Brandon Graham, DE out of Michigan.

Wanted Kyle Wilson to fall here, but there is still a need a DT. The best 2 players on the board that fit a need are Dan Williams and Brian Price, who might be the best 2 on the board period. I have seen more of Williams, which is why....

Houston Texans select Dan Williams, DT, Tennessee.

Whoops. Obviously that would make four.
