Golden Tate, WR Notre Dame.

Palmer needs another competent receiver. T.O. won't be good enough.

Ooooohhh, I wanted him to fall to the Jets. I only saw a few ND games last year, but really liked Tate.

I think he'll make a great slot receiver matched up against nickel corners and safeties.

Really sorry for the delay.

The Patriots take RB C.J. Spiller from Clemson

So it took 22 picks for someone to nab a RB. Whats the latest that the 1st rb has gone in draft history?

Steven Jackson was the first running back taken in the 2004 draft. He was taken by the Rams with the 24th pick. Since then the latest a RB has been taken is 7th.

We're definitely going offensive line here. Now the question remains whether or not we take a tackle or a guard. Re-signing Clifton certainly helps a line that vastly improved in the second half of the season. TJ Lang was also a gigantic bright spot whenever he filled in for Clifton or Tauscher. Josh Sitton was pretty decent at one of the guard spots. The other guard position is still a gigantic question mark.

Therefore, the Packers select Mike Iupati out of the glamorous University of Idaho.

eagles could use some help on the defensive line and linebacker. i have no idea where he fits better (or if he'd be better in a 3-4), but i'm picking sergio kindle, DE/OLB from texas.

I would put him in a 3-4. Could be a very similar player to Orakpo.

we don't play a 3-4... oops. but i like kindle better than the other two guys i considered (everson griffen from usc, who seems to still be getting by on the "potential" label but hasn't produced enough; carlos dunlap, who has character issues and work ethic questions).

Kindle is more of a 3-4 type linebacker, but I think he can play a 4-3. You might not be maximizing his value that way, though. I really like Dunlap.

WrigleyField 22 and the Ravens are now on the clock. I PMd him.

Kindle is better-suited for a 3-4, but he can play OLB or DE in a 4-3 (which he basically did at Texas). If you want a 4-3 OLB, Sean Weatherspoon is your guy.

Yeah, with the every increasing number of 3-4 teams in college there aren't a large number of 4-3 OLBs in the early part of this draft. That's actually what makes McLain and Spikes that much more valuable to me, they are very suited to a 4-3 linebacker role and wouldn't be playing out of place.

Well I originally thought this would be a WR pick, but they've actually done some work shoring up WR, so I think they'll wait, especially with the talent pool, better value later. So the Ravens are going to add some youth to the DL.

Cardinals take DT Brian Price

If this is how it goes I think the Cardinals are a bit disappointed. I think they head into the draft wanting either one of the OT's, true 3-4 DT's, McClain or a tweener pass rusher to fall. I don't think any of the ones they like did. Price isn't bad but he reportedly has a weak lower body which will make it hard to be a NT in a 3-4. If Dunlap wasn't just taken he would have been the pick.

Looking for a NT and you pass on Cody?

vance, shnsajax and the Cowboys are now on the clock. I PMd them.

The Cowboys wre hoping that Iupati would fall here, but he didn't and I doubt he's there in the April draft either.

The Cowboys do not have to look at one position. There aren't going to be many starting jobs available next season. They would like to upgrade at safety and need some youth on the OL as all of their linemen are getting long in the tooth. They would probably also like to find an eventual replacement for Brooking at ILB and would like to add a playmaker at receiver.

I think with the way this draft has gone, the Cowboys will look at three players at this spot: Terrance Cody, Bruce Campbell, and Nate Allen. Allen is probably too big a reach here and Cody ,while I believe he could be an excellent run stuffer in Phillips' 3-4, is more of a luxury here. Campbell could be developed at LT or RT depending on the team's plans for Free. He has all the measureables you want in a LT but is lackluster on film.

That being said, with the age of the Cowboys lineman, I think Campbell is the pick.

Cody is a clear second round prospect right now. That said the Cardinals may decide to wait until the second round because of guys like Cody and Cam Thomas but like I said no one fell that they really like so their hand is kind of forced. In all honesty I think this is one of the picks most likely to be traded. It's at that spot where teams like to trade back into the first round and nab a guy. Also with only round 1 on day 1 we may see more teams trade back into the first round because they don't want to give other teams a chance to work out a trade during the night to get the first pick in the second round.

Excellent pick of Campbell. Like you said vance, he has all the physical skills of a top 10 pick, but his technique is iffy. If his technique can be improved, he could be an awesome tackle. Great value at this spot.

I could see him going late in the first round. Earlier drafters will likely shy away from him, but I could definitely see a team late in the first trying to get a value pick from him. The biggest issue I've heard is that he's really fat, almost too much so. But for a run stuffing nose tackle, I don't see that being a big enough negative for all 32 teams to pass on him – and some multiple times.

Almost went with Campbell but he just doesn't fit Whisenhunt's idea of a tackle in my eyes. He's not the type of guy to roll the dice and take a guy who is a bit of a project, especially with first round picks. I think the Cardinals come into the draft with a clear focus on shoring up the defense. They will need to replace Dansby and many of their other guys are getting older. I wouldn't be surprised to see their first three picks spent on DL, LB and DB in some order.
