Ole Miss offensive coordinator and former CFL MVP Kent Austin is leaving to go be head coach at Cornell. WTF? A) I didn't even know Cornell had a football team, and B) Successful SEC coordinators usually don't go down that far for a head coaching job. Eh, whatever.

The better Ivy teams do pay some for head coaches. How much was he making in Ole Miss? If he thought this was the best way to get a head coaching gig, it makes sense. Looks good on the resume to have some HC experience. Cornell's head coach left to take the Duke DC position.

Hopefully now Dooley will turn to Sal Sunseri for the DC spot.

I am so glad that the Rat Bast--- and spoiled brat are gone in succession, I suspect Tennessee getting themselves good coaches. If Tennessee ends up landing Sunseri you guys will be getting a really good coach. Hate to lose him, but would be happy for him getting a promotion.

I don't know if that's the way Dooley is looking, but apparently they've expressed some interest in Sunseri. Outside of Joe Barry, there's not been many strong signs on guys they're looking at.

$300,000.

4-star DT Cassius Marsh (Westlake, CA Oaks Christian HS) makes it official by decommitting from LSU and committing to UCLA.

Huge get for UCLA at a position of need.

Lache Seastrunk committed to Oregon yesterday. Nice get for them, they should be pretty well off at the rb position for the next couple of years.

Word is Jordan Hicks will also announce tomorrow where he is going. Its hard to say if Florida is even in it anymore as a lot of reports were he was not. He would be a massive get for Texas should they land him, though I would not be surprised to see him stay close to home at OSU.

Apparently if the Northwestern Wrigley Field game takes place in 2010, it will be against Illinois on 11/20 and not Iowa the week before.

Northwestern still has things to work out, though.

Also, stupid:

3-star QB Nash Nance committed to Tennessee today. Not groundbreaking in and of itself, but Nance is very good friends with Da'Rick Rogers, one of the top WR prospects in the nation. Rogers already has included Tennessee in his consideration for schools, so his buddy Nash coming to UT can only help.

Also, word is 4-star OL prospect James Stone is not only considering UT again, but has them at the top of his list. It's between Alabama and Tennessee for him.

Dooley's done a very good job so far considering.

As long as that doesnt become a habit with schools everywhere I am ok with it.

Yeah, it's the novelty and creativity that I like. If 75% of schools did it, it'd lose those aspects.

You'll get Da'rick Rogers, this will be a good pick up for you guys. As for James Stone, had Lane Kiffin not left for USC, Tennessee would have no shot at Stone as James will did not like Lane Kiffin, but since he left I think Stone to Tenn is all but guarantee. Alabama has all but given up on Stone and are in the middle of turning Shon Coleman from Auburn. So you guys will be getting a helluva WR and OL, so congrats.

Yeah I hadn't heard that about Stone until today, but I like our chances with him now. Rogers is a bit more unpredictable, but with his affinity toward Nance, and the fact that he likes Tennessee as much as he does, I think we've got a good shot at him.

Since being hired with 3 weeks until signing day, Dooley has now gotten 4-star WR Justin Hunter committed, gotten JUCO TE Michael Rivera (started at Cal) and gotten us significantly into play on Rogers and Stone. I feel really good about his recruiting ability right now.

yeah, i've read reports today that say that Coleman may be considering Alabama and Miami in addition to Auburn. As of a week ago, he said he was 100% committed to Auburn but would still take his visits..we'll see. There are always some surprises on signing day.

I think Shon Coleman is Bama's if we want him, and that seems to be the case (considering Stone is all but guarantee to Tennessee). Bama is said to want to close with two offensive linemen, and one of them is, IMO, Arie Kouandjo (sp?) and I believe Coleman. It's been said that Coleman is simply waiting on a commitable offer from UA and once he gets it he will turn.

I think Bama will finish AK, Coleman, and Ivory (Memphis NG who committed to Bama today), and will spend the rest of the week trying to dispell negative recruiting that has been said to guys like Keenan Allen (not going to lose, but Clemson has been feeding him lies about Bama's offense).

I love Boise State's field and I love that idea.

All the schools with green as their primary color are gonna be pissed they can't participate in this trend.

Ah, but they are already participating in the trend. In fact, they were the trailblazers.

Jackson Jeffcoat to declare tomorrow at 10am now. Hicks at 11:30am. I'm hoping for 1 out of 2, but the potential of them committing together has me excited. There were rumors about 2 weeks ago they wanted to commit together at Texas. Mack Brown's at home vist with Jeffcoat was said to have gone very well last week.

Ole Miss hosted him last weekend and as far as I'm concerned y'all can have him. He's a sketchball and judging by the way he F's with reporters (told half he was going to Tenn last weekend and half he was going to Ole Miss) I don't like his character at all.

Thats what I have been hoping to hear. This might be Brown's best class ever, and Muschamp is going to have the best talent he has ever had on defense. Now they can start the focus on Herschell Sims (that might be one of the best college names a rb can ever have) for 2011.

And Jordan Hicks makes it official and commits to Texas as well. The #2 & #4 overall on the espn150 makes for a very nice day. I wonder what Will Muschamp's happy dance looks like.
