Am I really the only one not surprised by that?

He didn't show all that much in the preseason and I never got the impression that they were super impressed with him in camp. Doesn't surprise me much at all that he didn't play in what was a close game (for most of the game, at least) against a great team.

I would have rather he played a bit. I mean, if Pargo can see the floor, anyone can, but we have less depth at G. Can't say I'm surprised at all that JJ didn't play in that game. If we're getting killed tonight, I'm sure he'll see some burn.

Ehh, I was just wondering since coach's decision doesn't really give you the reason.

I think the Bulls can be 4th best in the East. They looked every bit as good as anyone in the East outside of Boston.

They aren't even close to Cleveland and Orlando.

I'm just taking a shot in the dark here, but that may be why he thinks they can be 4th.

Then why say they looked every bit as good as anyone outside of Boston if he meant outside of Boston, Cleveland and Orlando?

I meant so far this year after 1-2 games.

I love when teams credit their opponents missing open jumpers to their defense. What did the Cletics do? Stare at them menacingly while they were shooting wide open jumpers?

I don't think it's the open jumpers people are crediting to the Celtics, it's the contested shots that Boston is known for.

Every time the Bulls have played Boston with Garnett on the team, except for maybe once or twice they've gotten blown out, and tonight was no different. I kinda expected it, there were too many factors in favor of the Celtics tonight, but hopefully this keeps people's expectations a little lower. I think we are a better team than last year for the most part, but we're clearly not in the same league as a motivated Celtics team. But we should be able to win more of those road games against average/decent teams than last year. Although, I am a bit worried about where the scoring is going to come from this year. 92 points last night, 90 tonight (a lot was garbage time) albeit against excellent defenses. I just fear way too many periods where we will have a complete inabiliy to score.

We'll see though...2 games doesn't tell a lot of meaningful things.

Rose needs to start taking over. Deng's been atrocious tonight.

Rose has the injured ankle. He just hasn't looked himself this year.

Rose looked good against the Spurs. Gut tells me he's fine. Tonight he didn't play particularly well.

With that said the Bulls can hang with the Celts even with KG, but there seems to be a mental block with this team facing the C's in Boston.

According to the trib, he woke up with a sore achilles / ankle today.

Bad loss, but this a young team on the Road. Didn't get too up about yesterday, nor too down now.

Celtics are the class of the NBA in my mind anyways. Nobody will be able to beat them in the playoffs if they stay healthy. Not Orlando, not Cleveland, not the Lakers.

If that was the case, I sure as heck would not have played him 24 minutes tonight, especially since the game was over particularly early.

He didn't play all that much in the 2nd half.

No they can't. It's not to insult the Bulls, they're just not on the same level as the top 3.

Agree to disagree.

A good defense can get you out of your comfort range on your shot but still give you open looks by cutting angles and passing lanes, etc.

The Bulls don't have the front court to hang with the Celtics or Magic and they don't have the defense to slow guys like Pierce or James.

The fact that he thinks the Bulls are on the same level as the Magic, Cavs and Celts should tell you it's probably not worth arguing with him. If your basketball thoughts are that bad, and internet post from another fan isn't going to help you.

good to know that redflash's blind homerism extends beyond alabama football.

No, I just have more faith in the Bulls players then most. That's part homerism, I'll admit, but not blind homerism.

As for Bama football, considering the embarrassment Bama football went through for a good part of the past decade (Albert Means, Ray Keller, The Mike's of Price, Shula, and Dubose, etc, etc, etc) I think I am entitled to show enthusiasm about Bama football. Call it blind homerism if you want---btw you would be wrong not a first but that's ok---but I call it being enthusiastic.
