I hate to say it, but whoever makes the Rose Bowl out of the Big Ten is likely to lose, Iowa or not. USC and Oregon are both very, very good teams and I'd expect them to handle Iowa or Penn State.

I clearly dont think PSU is as good as some people do, so I'll agree with half of that statement.

I [expletive] love Illinois right now.

At least I dont have to hear about Tate Forcier being a mixture of Tom Brady and Jesus anymore from ESPN's broadcast crew.

Illinois lost to Misouri 37-9. Illinois lost to Ohio State 30-0. Illinois is 0-fer against I-A teams this year.

And they're just physically beating on Michigan at the moment.

Michigan had a chance to pretty much bury Illinois, but couldn't get in from the 1-yard line with 4 downs. It's been straight downhill since then.

Tougher schedule = better than ?

When teams haven't played each other you only really have a couple of pieces of tangible evidence to go with. One is strength of schedule and the other is margain of victory. It's really just a matter of determining when one supercedes the other. It's really something that can be argued forever. Chances are, barring an upset, Iowa will get a shot against a big team, either in the Rose Bowl, National Title or possibly an at large if the only loss is Ohio State.

I don't know if Iowa would get destroyed(they probably wouldn't fare well now as they have a lot of offensive players hurt which doesn't help when your offense is average at best) but I personally don't think they would. The team is pretty much designed not to get blown out.

Washington.

Aaron Corp.

it's a known fact that 1 missed game at quarterback for USC has been the only injury in college football this season.

I was pointing out the difference between Barkley and Corp at QB, not excusing the loss completely.

Where the hell did this come from Illinois?

Your guess is as good as mine. This team has been sleepwalking all season long, then all of a sudden they get a big stop from Terry Hawthorne and four straight stops at the goal line.

This has been one of the stranger things I've seen.

I really wish ND could get these Big Ten teams to play them later in the year. The Sept. 12th Michigan is miles better than the team that's been playing in conference play.

I don't know if you watched that game on 9/12, but if you really, honestly think that Illinois could push around the same team that took the field in Ann Arbor that day, I really don't know what to tell you.
