So offensive linemen don't get tired as the game wears on, they just suck? I understand the theory that the offense knows where the play is going and doesn't have to cover as much ground. Knowing that its a pass play coming doesn't mean it takes less effort to pass block.

They get tired, but not at the same rate as the defensive lineman. The Oline is essentially operating at a light job pace all game while the defenders are constantly sprinting. Blocking takes less energy than trying to evade the block. And the continuity thing matters.

Benson is causing quite a stir insisting the Bears blackballed him. I hope our defense hits him in the mouth this week.

How could the Bears have blackballed him, when hes on a team?

The veterans treated him like crap. The Urlacher/Brown/Kreutz triumvirate apparently thought he never should have been drafted and they did their best to not welcome him into the team.

Was it that they didn't think he should've been drafted, or they didn't like that he held out?

I always thought it was the latter. I mean, he freaking cried like a baby on national TV about being treated like a piece of meat after he got drafted and then heldout. Then when he signed he was pissed that he wasn't automatically the feature back and whined that the vets were being hard on him (which they probably were).

I hate to sound like a meathead, but the guy acted like a bitch from the moment he got drafted and then wasn't productive on top of it (due in part to the poor offensive line). He brought it on himself.

He was productive early on.

I didn't want to draft a RB in that draft, and I nearly gave up on him as soon as he cried, and I wasn't a big fan. But I still think the Bears and several Bears veterans screwed the pooch with how they treated him. Well, more so with how the coaches allowed the veterans to treat him. It's one thing to demand new guys to be subserviant, but he was an obvious mental case and they should have protected their investment.

Damnit, Pisa was so good for the few plays he was healthy.

The Bears vets were also big Thomas Jones fans as well.

Who was also a highly touted early draft choice who was an even bigger disappointment in Arizona than Benson was in Chicago, and then went on to eventually enjoy a solid career elsewhere (and had multiple contract/holdout threats). And many of those veterans had their own contract disputes. It's hypocritical for these guys to pretend they are taking the high road with a holdout rookie.

No argument here.

Just taking my weekly stroll through the "expert predictions". I figured that the "experts" would be slightly in favor of the Bears, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

CBSsports.com's Prisco (23-14), and Harmon Forecast (20-19) pick the Bengals, as well as the Super Bowl predictor Peter King (24-23) who thinks the game is still at noon.

ESPN's "experts" are mixed as to who wins, as 4 pick the Bengals, and 4 the Bears, with Accuscore taking the Bears and the fans picking the Bengals. As far as CBSsports.com's ATS picks, 4 pick the Bears (taking 1.5 points) and 2 take the Bengals and the points.

Whatifsports.com's computers picks the Bengals over the Bears 20-18, with their 10,000 simulations favoring the Bengals 54.1% of the time.

All 3 of Yahoo.com's "experts" pick the Bengals, but their fans actually pick the Bears (52-48).

Finally we come to Foxsports.com's expert Peter Schrager. He is the only person to pick the Bears and put a score to it. He says the Bears will win 24-20.

So if you put them all together, 14 "experts" pick the Bengals, while 11 pick the Bears. What does this mean? Absolutely nothing. But it's personally fun to look at them each week to gauge our respect around the web.

My personal pick....I want to pick a somewhat easy Bears win, but the thought of Ced Benson being focused on revenge makes me thinking it will be a bit closer than it normally wood. Plus every Bengals game this year, save maybe last weeks, has been really close so I'll take the Bears 27, Bengals 21.

At least I hope that's the case. I'm driving down to Cincinnati tomorrow and going to the game Sunday with my girlfriend (Bengals fan) and her entire family of Bengals fans. Could be a crappy drive back home if they lose.

I'd feel more confident if this was a home game, but right now I'm picking a very close Bears win. 23-20.

Tommy Harris is out per the Tribune.

Our defense sure needs S/LB/DT help.

I think the Bears need CB more than safeties. But last week they also needed DE help.

Anyone else going down for this game? We'll be tailgating at Longworth Hall starting around 9:30 or 10:00... PM me if anyone else is going to be down there and wants to grab a cold one or 12! GO BEARS!

We'll find out this week if they miss Tommie, which will give us a much better idea of what kind of value he still holds for this football team. I find it hard sometimes to judge a DT by # of tackles, or # of sacks. I know Tommie hasn't been bursting through the line like he used to, but that might not be the whole picture.

When Harris was orginally injuried I remember reading something to the extent that his type of injury was one in which a very low percentage of players returned from. It essentially read that his career was basically over.

I bet Chad invited Jay out to dinner, but Olsen went because Olsen goes everywhere Jay goes.

That said, I do not like teams fraternizing with other teams, especially a day or two before a game between the two.

What's the AccuScore prediction for the game?

So when in the game do you expect the Bengals to start running the no huddle?

Won't be a big deal if Hunter is playing.
