So maybe a Gaines Adams sighting this sunday.

Tommie Harris ZERO sacks. ugh this dline.

Well, in terms of overall defense, the Bears are currently ranked 7th. In terms of points, they are 15th.

Rushing ypg, 6th. Passing ypg, 14th.

Certainly it's still early. I was fearing worse than this heading into the season.

Bears SLB Pisa Tinoisamoa is deciding whether to have season-ending surgery on his right knee, a source tells Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune.

Tinoisamoa suffered articulating cartilage damage, but no meniscus damage, in Sunday night's loss tot he Falcons. He ruptured the PCL in that same knee in the season opener. Tinoisamoa is going to get a second opinion before deciding if he can play through the injury. Jamar Williams would probably take over for Tinoisamoa, at least until Hunter Hillenmeyer (ribs) gets healthy.

I don't know what to do about Tommie. We've got him signed to a big deal...but his performance is just not worth it. Right now we don't have the manpower to replace him, but what about in the offseason?

I don't think the Bears know what to do either, other than ride out his contract and try to squeeze out whatever they can from him.

Chad Ochocinco started Wednesday's conference call with the Chicago media with "Hola." At the end, he told us all that he is now Mexican, and that his first name is Esteban.

The most hilarious message Ochocinco sent out was to Bears linebacker Lance Briggs, saying he would make Briggs backpedal so much that his name would become Lance Armstrong.

During Wednesday's call, Briggs walked into the media room and hollered. Then someone asked Ochocinco for his opinion of Briggs.

"That's a very good friend of mine," he said. "You guys pass the message: If he's thinking about hitting me, I'll sue."

He also talked about his tweet in which he said that he deserves credit for Jay Cutler's contract extension.

``I was just having fun, man," he said. ``You know how I am. Congrats to Jay. Much deserved. He's one of the best in the game regardless of what other people think."

This may be a dumb question but here goes. A lot of teams these days rotate their D-linemen so that they can go all out for the time that they're in the game without worrying about wearing down as the game goes on. Makes sense.

So why don't teams do the same thing with offensive linemen? Sunday night Pace played pretty well in the first half but clearly wore down as the game went on. Why not platoon Pace with what's his name? Wouldn't that help keep them from wearing down?

There are a couple of reasons why this is not commonly done. In the first place, teams don't take steps to keep offensive linemen from wearing down because they typically don't wear down. A defensive lineman has to exert much more effort than an offensive lineman on a normal play. A defensive lineman is supposed to pursue to the ball until the whistle is blown while an offensive lineman frequently gives up mid play because they're too slow to catch up with the play after it is past them.

Also a defensive lineman has to have superior speed/strength to get past an offensive lineman, while an offensive lineman just has to have the same speed/strength as the defense in order to hold them up.

Finally, continuity on the offensive line is more important sometimes because they are potentially protecting an entire season for the team (the health of the QB and RB) while the worst a defensive line being out can do is to give up a TD.

I think Roach was OK Sunday night. He's getting a really bad rap online, but he was fine. Question is, if Pisa is out for the year (which he's stupid if he doesn't elect surgery), then what do you do? I like Roach better in the middle than Hunter. But I also like Roach better at SLB. I think the difference is greater at SLB, therefore, I'd move Hunter back to the middle if he can play this week.

Benson is causing quite a stir insisting the Bears blackballed him. I hope our defense hits him in the mouth this week.

How could the Bears have blackballed him, when hes on a team?

When you're the [expletive] fourth pick in the entire draft and you can't even get 700 yards rushing in a season with the amount of carries you got and then you go out and drive and boat while drunk, you shut your mouth! YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH AND KEEP YOUR QUOTES OUT OF THE PAPERS!

Veteran linebacker Pisa Tinoisamoa will miss the remainder of the season as he will undergo surgery on his right knee, possibly microfracture surgery.

Haha, nice. Somehow I don't think Benson is the type to do that :)

The Pisa news really sucks. It seems every year this team can't really stay healthy. I don't know what could possibly be done about it at this point. We've got the strength/conditioning coach everyone says is a guru. It's a pretty helpless feeling. Who will be next? Probably someone who is having a good year.

I don't want to say it. I don't want to even think it......

The veterans treated him like crap. The Urlacher/Brown/Kreutz triumvirate apparently thought he never should have been drafted and they did their best to not welcome him into the team.

So offensive linemen don't get tired as the game wears on, they just suck? I understand the theory that the offense knows where the play is going and doesn't have to cover as much ground. Knowing that its a pass play coming doesn't mean it takes less effort to pass block.

Was it that they didn't think he should've been drafted, or they didn't like that he held out?
