Re: Week 6 - Chicago Bears at Atlanta Falcons, 7:20 PM NBC

Watching it live, I presumed there was another player I wasn't able to see off screen downfield.

I thought so too, but one of their replays on the broadcast as from the Falcons endzone, allowing you to see all the way upfield. When they showed that angle, I specifically looked for players up field and only saw the ones in the above pictures.

I deleted the damn game off my DVR because I was disgusted :)

I think he should have scored too. He blew it.

Doesn't excuse not being able to put it in the end zone later on though. I can't believe we were down there so much and came away with zippo.

Damn, UMFan. Pretty telling pictures. They had another chance at a TD on the batted pass too. And then the damn penalties. That final drive was so dumb.

Brad Biggs, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports the Chicago Bears could make changes to their offensive line after they were unable to run the ball against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 6. OG Josh Beekman could return to left guard and replace OG Frank Omiyale. The team could also turn to OT Kevin Shaffer at tackle.

Who would Shaffer be replacing? Better not be Williams.

Hhhmmm, I posted on another forum that the line I wanted to see the rest of the season was:

Williams-Beekman-Kruetz-Garza-Shaffer

But I didn't think it'd actually happen. I'd be so happy if it did.

I don't know why they would replace Pace. Despite the dumbarse penalties, he probably had his best game as a Bear. Of course, that is pretty sad considering he got lit up in the 4th quarter. Williams shouldn't go anywhere, and I think Garza has been the best lineman on the team so far...which is also pretty sad.

I believe that means that Cutler can't be a free agent till 2014. I think this deal has everything to do with the potential for a lockout.

Could be. Seems like the right move to me. Now they obviously need to work on the OLine, a big WR target, and COACHING out those red zone INTs (yes, Jay Cutler still needs to accept some coaching, and the Bears need to provide it, IMO).

Pace actually played a good first half. His second half left a lot to be desired though.

he got away with a TON of holds too, he had Abraham in a head lock most of the 4th quarter

I see many more OTs get away with that move than just Pace.

Olsen could serve as the big target no? As for the remaining WR's we've seen flashes from Knox and Bennett, the talent is there, I believe it's only a matter of time with Cutler and company.

Olsen is still receiving double coverage. Despite his lack of production, teams still see him as a big threat, and scheme to shut him down. Until our WR's become larger big play threats, that'll continue to happen. They've all had nice moments, but nothing that makes another team say "Oh crap, we'd better start double covering Knox/Hester/Bennett"

WR's becoming a threat - Think that'll happen?

I'm thinking, if it does, it'll probably take a season for it to develop.

It'd be a surprise to me if it happened this season unless the coaches start changing some things to get these guys open more often. Making Knox a starter would be a good step as well.
