Hopefully with the bye week to rest Hester and Knox will be ready to go against the Falcons.

It would be nice if Tinoisamoa and Hillenmeyer can return after the bye.

That too.

This will be a tough one. We need some revenge for last year. I say the Bears return the favor and come back late to win it. This time they don't leave enough time on the clock for a miraculous play. Bears 23 Falcons 20.

This is a much needed bye week.

As much as I freaking HATE bye weeks personally, you're right....it's probably great for the Bears.

In 2008, the Bears defensive ends and tackles combined for 22.5 sacks. They already have 10 in four games under Marinelli.

3. Too bad there are so few midseason trades in the NFL. There are about 15 teams that need wide receiver Terrell Owens more than the Bills, starting with the Chicago Bears.

All those teams had a chance to sign him in the offseason and wanted nothing to do with the guy.

b. The Lions' Matthew Stafford got into some impressive grooves in a 48-24 loss to the Lions.

Only the Lions can manage to lose to themselves.

St Louis appears capable.

St. Louis has been SO much worse during their 14 game losing streak than Detroit ever was during their 19 game losing streak.

I'd much rather have the bye week later in the season, but with the current crop of LB and WR injuries, I guess it's as good a time as any. Atlanta heads to SF this week for what is sure to be a tough fight. They are currently 2.5 point dogs out there. Unless they get blown out, I think they will be favored about 1 or 2 against Chicago.

I'm still very concerned about the pass defense. The line may have come up with some big plays, but for most of the game Stafford had plenty of time to complete downfield passes. I'm guessing Atlanta will be able to score a lot, so the Bears need Cutler to lead them to this win.

Another thing is Olsen. He had another drop yesterday, and slipped and fell when I really think he shouldn't have.

Now, can we stop all the nonsense with the blitzing and stay in Cover 2 for however long we continue to generate consistent pressure?

I hate, hate, hate how blitz happy we've been. The middle of the field has been wide the hell open.

I'm hoping the line had a revelation in the 2nd half. They managed to start getting pressure on Stafford with a 4 man rush that they weren't doing in the first half.

I think getting Hillenmeyer back will help a bit in the middle of the field. He's not a great pass defender, but Roach really wasn't doing much in protecting the middle of the field at all. The blitz has something to do with that, but having Urlacher out really gives teams license to go after us over the middle through the air. He really made that zone defense work in the middle.

Offense and ST are really going to bail out the D this year.

Amen to that. Not only are they blitz happy, but they really suck at it. Lance Briggs has always been a bad blitzer. He runs right into blockers and gets nowhere. They do this all the time. I hate when this team blitzes.
