Mike Hampton is going to have a LOOOONG day. The Astros bullpen is worn out beyond belief. He's going to be taking one for the team today...unless he drills Soriano next inning and gets ejected.

At first I was going to say that he's going to have a short day and get knocked out early, but then I forgot about how many innings the Astro bullpen has thrown the last two days.

Who did they call up for Hawkins? And is he available today?

They called up their #2 pitching prospect, and they activated someone off the DL.

I really hope we add a real shortstop at some point so Ryan can play 2B.

For the past couple years, that would have been nice. But Theriot turns 30 this season and is going to start making arbitration money, meaning he is no longer going to be a nice cheap middle infield option. It might be best if next season were his last with the team.

Fox dropped a called strike 3.

enough about this stupid dropped third strike. it popped out of his glove for one second and he threw the guy out. stop making it sound like he kicked it around like benny hill and then threw it into the left field bleachers or something.

Nothing. But there is no situation in which Koyie Hill is the better option than Jake Fox.

Well they didn't go out in 8 pitches, nice job rammy. Easily the best Cubs hitter, year in and year out.

Yup hes so fun to watch.

You have to figure the Cubs would have a decent first place lead had he not gotten hurt. He's the team MVP year after year

I don't think it's crazy to argue we'd have an extra 5-6 wins if ARam were in the lineup all year. I'm sure there's a sabermetric number out there if anyone knows it
