Watching the postgame and Lou is saying he's going to play with the order again tomorrow. I'll put $5 down that Fuld is leading off and either Soriano or Bradley will sit with the other batting 5th. I'd liek to know what in the heck he is going to do once A-Ram is back. With how everyone is playing you almost have to shift Fox out to the OF, keep Fuld in there, and sit both of the overpaid dipshits.

Long-term, I still don't think it makes sense to start Fuld and keep Hoff on the bench. Maybe ride out his little hot streak, and then switch Hoff in there. Theriot is a perfectly competent leadoff man. I just hope Soriano is either benched or moved down in the lineup. I'm sick of it.

BTW, that makes it 5 out of the last 8 home games have ended in walkoff wins, and 5 of the last 6 wins at Wrigley.

Why do you distinguish between "home games" and "Wrigley"? Did I miss another game at Wrigley North?

I just saw the last pitch for the first time. We got a pretty good break there. It looked like the ump got fooled by the slight backdoor break on the pitch.

Every hitter on the offense (save for Lee and maybe Soto) should be forced to watch the tape of Fox's 10th-inning AB. THAT is a quality major league at bat, something we have not had much of this year.

I think you guys are exaggerating how good that pitch was. It's definitely borderline, could have been called a strike, but it's not a crazy call.

The catcher did do a good job of framing it, but the point in the picture is where you hear the ball hitting the glove.

Kendall didn't help matters by catching it with the glove above his head.

It looks bad because of Fox is in his batting stance. But nine times out of ten that pitch is called a strike. The Cubs were fortunate to get the call.

it was probably a strike, but if the umpire hasn't been giving the high strike and the batter does a good job of selling it, it's certainly an understandable call.

macha set this up to happen by walking soto. i hate the move of walking the bases loaded there unless you're getting a big difference between the two hitters. i'd rather not have a force out (plus it's geo running, you can probably throw him out at first on an IF ground ball) than walk the bases loaded and lose the game on a walk or HBP.

I'll go ahead and say 98 times out of 100 that's a strike. We were very fortunate. I didn't even know how to react because I was completely sure that we were headed to another inning until I saw the umpire didn't make any movement.

That home plate umpire might have been the worst ump I've seen this year and not just because of that pitch to end the game. He was horrid today.

Agreed. On that pitch, in that situation, every ump makes that strike 3 call, right or not. Apparently, except the one we had today.

The move that didn't make sense to me was IBBing Bradley. He's been making terrible contact lately.
