Is anyone else afraid that Milton Bradley will be like "this guy is not showing me up!" and he shoots an ump like on the Last Boyscout?

Should get nothing but a fine...

He'll get a suspension for bumping the ump for sure. If Bradley's was worth 1 game Z's has to be worth 5 (1 start)

I think it's time to get rid of that dang Gatorade Machine... maybe have the whole team smash it while blasting "Still" by the Geto Boys over the Wrigley PA.

I think the thing that sent Z over the edge is he asked Nyjer as he crossed the plate if could give him to Milton, but he said no and Z got angry.

Z (to Morgan): Nice run little man. I'm gonna give you to Mr. Bradley. Come here you!

Morgan: No way man. I'm a pirate!

Ump: Thats racist.

Z: You son of a....

Kinda looked to me like the Ump bumped Carlos....

Definitely. The ump initiated the contact. Garnted, Z could have responded better, but the in this case the player was not touching the ump until the ump's arm hit his.

As long as we get an inside the parker out of the deal.

He should claim that, as the Cubs top pinch hitter, he should get a lesser suspension than a SP

Haha. I like that argument.

Z will probably get five games, he'll appeal, and the Cubs will plan it out so he serves it with an offday in the middle so they can move somebody up in the rotation so Z essentially gets moved back a day.

Suspensions for starting pitchers are always a joke.

But you know what else is a joke? Suspensions given to Cubs' players. You just know they'll make an example of Z and give him 7 or 8 games or something to force a missed turn in the rotation. You just KNOW it.

I remember nothing from the Last Boyscout other than who's in it. It's like it's been erased from my mind.

love that movie

ETA - but I think the football player pulls out a gun while running down the sideline and shoots a prospective tackler and then shoots himself after reaching the end zone. I don't think he shoots a ref.

I think Z's getting off easy if he gets single digits. He chucked a ball to the warning track and kicked the umpire out of the game.

Wow. Really? You don't think Z's actions deserve to miss a start?

Ignoring the fact that Morgan was safe, Z probably said something that typically gets a guy thrown out, bumped an umpire, threw a ball, threw is glove, took a bat to some equipment in the dugout and generally acted out in a very threatening manner. You don't think he should miss any time with those actions?

I love Z and yesterday's tantrum has been the highlight of this Cubs season, in my eyes, but the dude is going to get suspended, and he definitely earned it.

I don't think these two actually matter much. And technically he got bumped by the ump, but whatever. I still see him getting 10 games.
