He also won the award for home run trot most resembling a 12 year old girl who just hit a game winning homer. I can't wait until this turd takes one in the ribs after another one of his fairy prances around the bases.

Congrats to the future mvp. Well deserved.

:pig:

There is a nonzero chance that Albert Pujols dies.

Along with the other 10 guys in the NL that are better than Braun.

Pointless post.

He should thank Lou Piniella for leaving Dempster out to face him, essentially giving him a free homer.

10?

Hanley, Utley and maybe Wright are probably the only hitters i'd listen to arguments for

Keeping in mind he's a horrendous defender in LF, I don't think it's far fetched to find 10 guys. He didn't crack my MVP ballot last year. He didn't make yours either.

being a top 20 hitter in your league at age 24 is hardly an indictment

going forward TT, who in the NL besides Pujols would you expect to out-hit Braun? fwiw, i don't think being a -5 fielder is going to stick in the writers minds enough to significantly hinder his chances of winning an MVP.

because of a .335 OBP registered last year which he's already shown great strides in improving. i absolutely agree he's likely a future MVP. Jay Bruce and Upton are two others i'd lay pretty good odds for, too.

Come on. I can't stand the guy, but I sure would love having him in our lineup. He definitely puts up MVP-type numbers.

Ryan Braun has put up one season of MVP type offensive #s. During that season he was so awful at 3B that he wasn't even the best rookie in the league, let alone worthy of MVP discussion. Last year's 3rd place finish was criminal.

boy i never realized how jealous you are of him, you can't stand him beacause he plays for the brewers and playing the brewers is a not a easy win any more.if Braun was a bad left fielder he would have made error's so since he has no errors in left he not and i find it funny you people keep staying it when it is not true, i guess you can keeping dreaming it.

I think some misguided crew fans think Braun will become another Pujols.

Anyway, Braun is very good, but as long as Pujols, Hanley and Wright are in the NL, I don't see him winning an MVP in the foreseeable future. Particularly not in 2-3 years after Fielder and Hart leave, and the Brewers are fielding 70-75 win teams.

Albert Pujols is the same guy, but better, we don't hate him. We respect him, in fact he's my favorite player to watch in the game today. But, he doesn't behave like a baby at all times. This shouldn't be too difficult to understand.

Seems to me the Brewers are geniuses with Braun's contract:

2008: $455,000 plus $2.3 million signing bonus

2009: $745,000

2010: $1 million

2011: $4 million

2012: $6 million

2013: $8.5 million

2014: $10 million

2015: $12 million

If Braun becomes eligible for salary arbitration after 2009 as a "Super 2" player, these salaries change:

2010: $3.5 million

2011: $5.5 million

2012: $7.5 million

2013: $9 million

This means that even with arby he could be hitting 40+ homers per year for several years and still be making less than $10mil/yr in 2013 unless I'm missing something.

I have to congratulate the Crew on that. I'm starting to hate Brauny, but I've got to give credit where it's due.

Pujols should act more mature than Braun considering he's what 39-40 years old.

You can't commit an error on a ball you never touch.

I don't see much use in debating who's most likely to earn the votes, compared to who's actually earned the award. Braun's unsustainable start doesn't even bring him to Pujols' level, and I really have my doubts he's going to continue his peripherals from this season(25% LD%, .395 BABIP, 29% HR/F, etc.). Once those come down to earth I think you'll see the erosion of that improved BB rate. As far as names of people who would be more deserving, Pujols is a no brainer, then you have guys like Berkman, Utley, HanRam, Wright, even Beltran.

Fair enough.

And Pujols is actually a really good defender as well. You know, the kind that can actually field and has obvious defensive talents that extend beyond getting bad reads/jumps, running around like a chicken with it's head cut off, not getting to balls and therefore not being charged with errors.

With Pujols you hate that he is so good, you are even jealous, but you respect him. With Braun, you just hate him. He's a punk.
