Crandall Head tore his ACL. That sucks.

Why does nothing surprise me anymore with teams I like?

I feel the same way.

at least he didn't tear it while getting his ass kicked by an illini football player.

True, but a torn ACL is way worse than a dinged up finger.

He'll probably get an "A" in English for Athletes.

"Coach Cal went on to tweet that if any of his players were caught fighting with the football squad, he'd place them in "Time Out." Fortunately, he still has a couple left over from the NC game..."

Saw this on the Phog. :rotfl:

Egwu is visiting Illinois on Oct. 4th. I'm hoping we land the commitment. Egwu, and TA would be a great way to start the class.

Has anyone heard any news on Quincy Miller's visit Sept. 26th, I cannot find anything.

There isn't anything. I don't like our chances on him. Sounds like his paarents want him away from Illinois.

It seemed like a fun thought to entertain for a while, but I think you are right. Basketball season can't arrive quick enough

Apparently Klee said in his chat that Miller never made it on campus. Oh well. Seemed like a longshot at best anyways. I hope we can land Beal.

Amusing.

Sampson is scum, this changes nothing in that regard. It is just amusing to see the NCAA contemplating change this rule because "Monitoring phone calls has become too burdensome for compliance officials." Well gee, I imagine every aspect of compliance monitoring is probably a pain in the ass but that doesn't mean you stop doing it. I'm sure tracking down illegal payments to athletes is a pain too. lol

I'd imagine that phone records are some of the easiest things to monitor in the recruiting process.

How hard is it to keep all recruiting calls to one cell phone per coach? How hard is it to monitor a cell phone call sheet?

Well in the case of IU a lot of those illegal calls were made from the assistant coach's home phone which he conveniently never turned in phone records for. But yeah tracking calls on the university issued cell phones should be no big deal.

Speaking of university issued cells, did anyone else see the story about Mizzou? They sold off some old cell phones and one of them still had text messages sent and received by an assistant coach stored in the phone. :-)) Now there wasn't anything improper contained in the messages but still, wow. It just cracked me up.

Yeah, they sold some old phones from the coaches that had old messages and calls and stuff. Completely boneheaded move by the athletic department not checking the phones, but the one positive about it is that there was nothing illegal on them, so it doesn't look any worse than just being a stupid mistake. If there was illegal activity found it would've been a [expletive] nightmare.

Scott Martin, who transferred to ND from Purdue, is done for the year with an ACL tear. I was looking forward to seeing him play, but an already-thin ND team just got thinner.

Part of me feels bad for him but part of me is happy.

How in the hell would that make you happy?

Because he's in love with Robbie Hummel, remember?
