Sadly Texas beat a cupcake yesterday. If only they would have played some good teams to get ready for Kstate.

After dropping 18 on Drake in a win last night. Anthony Tucker was arrested for public intox. He was arrested last year for public intox and missed the 2nd semester due to grades. Most likely he's gone.

Hopefully they don't blow these last two games. Getting to 7-5 would be nice before Big Ten reality sets in.

Just saw the end of yesterday's Butler/Xavier game. Xavier really got screwed, but not because of the decision to end the game. The same clock glitch happened with 40-50 seconds left and while I only saw it once, could have put Butler's go-ahead basket in jeopardy. In addition, the jumpball call that gave Butler the ball back to set up the game winning shot was clearly a foul.

 

Also, kudos to Musburger, Knight, and the entire production crew for thinking that the officials would put time back on instead of take time off for the entire 10-15 minute review.

SIU goes 2-0 in Vegas, getting two amazing comeback wins in the final minutes against...San Diego and San Francisco.

 

Not the best competition but wins are wins, I guess. 7-2 with the two losses being road losses at a ranked UNLV team and a SLU team (who we never beat over there) isn't too bad of an OOC mark. The problem is we don't really have any good wins to show for either. The MVC is down again this year, so I really don't know what to expect from this team in conference play. First game is next Tuesday against Indiana St.

Yeah I was watching that game and I kept wondering why the heck they thought time would be added back on, it made no sense at all.

At Bama is a tough place to win, especially the way they did. I know RPI means nothing right now, but #1 RPI and #3 SOS is pretty dang significant. Anyone who doesn't think they'll contend for the Big 12 is dilusional.

At Bama is a tough place to win, especially the way they did. I know RPI means nothing right now, but #1 RPI and #3 SOS is pretty dang significant. Anyone who doesn't think they'll contend for the Big 12 is dilusional.

 

 

I think they're pretty good, but I don't think they have enough in the post to challenge for the Big XII championship. I do think we'll only split with them this year. But I expect them to lose one or two head scratchers during league play. Their guards are pretty damn good, though.

Where you are ranked right now holds no weight on what you're going to be doing come conference time. This KSU team has yet to even come close to peaking yet. On top of the guards, Kelly and Judge will be a presence to deal with come conference time. Add in Sutton and Samuels, and this team has a LOT of weapons. You'll see.

I would bet any amount of money that you don't end up challenging for the Big 12 title. Unless your definition of challenging for the title is being within 4 games. KU and Texas are ranked that high because they are really flipping good.

Andre Dawkins and Jon Scheyer are currently 1 and 2 in the nation in Offensive Rating so far. Pomeroy and Sagarin's predictor both have them #2. I am very excited for this team.

It was great to see them get to 2000 wins tonight, even if it was vs. Drexel.

 

I didn't think they had enough time to put it together even in this current college environment, but they've made great strides compared to the 1st few games this year. They have a legit shot to win it all.
