Why is there no GameCast on ESPN for Illinois/Utah ???

It's not an ESPN-sponsored event. There was a Luke Winn article from a few days ago detailing how ESPN has taken over the early-season tourneys, and the few that have held out (Great Alaska Shootout and Las Vegas Classic were two mentioned) are basically shut out of coverage. ESPN didn't even have it listed in the scoreboard until earlier today.

I also caught the goal tending on Tisdale that they still haven't noticed wasn't an offensive foul on Utah. At least the scoreboard caught up.

Mizzou struggling against Old Dominion

 

I think ODU might be pretty decent. And not just bc they beat OU, who looks terrible this year.

 

I haven't had a chance to see them, and this game isn't on TV, so I don't know if they are doing a good job of stopping us or we are just playing terribly. We're only shooting 37%. Mizzou up 58-51 with 35 ticks left.

 

Mizzou dominated the first half, but they shot so poorly they couldn't get a lead of more than 15. Because ODU couldn't possibly turn it over 20 more times in the second half, the game tightened up before Mizzou held on. ODU is a good team, they're supposed to win the CAA and like Snood said they already took down OU.

I'm not sure I buy this rumor that it's down to UI/UF, either. The lead recruiting expert at Phog has just recently said Beal was poised to look at more schools (specifically Mizzou), not whittle it down. I suppose things could have changed in the last week, but I'm skeptical. There's also virtually no discussion of this on the Phog, which seems weird.

 

are you a premium member at phog? if you aren't you likely wouldn't have heard anything. i was in the right place at the right time. from what i understand, he's going to make a decision very soon. very soon.

 

I am. That's where the head recruiting guy said Beal was examining other options and taking a hard look at Mizzou. I posted a thread, asking the head recruiting guy about this rumor, but he still hasn't replied.

 

ah, right on, i figured you were after i re-examined your first sentence.

 

i'm not sure what the communication is between the guys who work for rivals and scout and the illini boards and phog.net even. i'm also not sure where this guy gets his info but i guess he's respected enough as far as the posters on scout are concerned.

 

So the phog recruiting expert said he's hearing that Beal will announce Mon, that Fla is the rumored leader, and that Self is scheduled to go in and see him tomorrow. The recruiting guy said he's still exhausting all avenues for info.

just lost to a crappy team that lost to seattle. unbelievable, then they rip my heart out again by taking another look at that last basket before deciding to count it. it's some kind of cruel joke.

 

0-3 today, and probably 0-whatever the rest of the [expletive] way. screw it.
