not being called in Boston, with 10 seconds left. If they're in Chicago, maybe it gets called. That's how the NBA works.

We should be demanding that the NBA improve the consistency with which they call games. Not just say "oh well that's how it works, nothing can be done."

That's how it works because nobody demands better. Mediocrity in officiating is accepted in the NBA.

I get that the Bulls lost because of other things.

I'm pretty sure Perkins set enough moving screens to foul out last night, btw.

Perkins? What about Davis? The moving screen appears to be his specialty.

Oh, they aren't going to call those, being in Boston and the Moon is full and the refs don't feel like it, and stuff.

Because you don't want the rules applied consistently. You want them applied consistently for your team. I can only imagine the outrage on here if Hinrich did that to Perkins and a flagrant was called. It's not like they didn't call a foul in that situation. They called it correctly, it's pretty difficult to assume intent when a guy is swatting towards a guy's arm. This looks a lot worse from this angle btw compared to the back angle that actually shows Rondo's arm get mostly back.

I just wanted to point out that you don't need intent for a flagrant 1. The only reason I know that is because I looked it up for that very reason.

Ultimately it doesn't matter because win or lose the Celtics are going win as many NBA Championships as the Bulls will this season - 0.

I didn't expect much from the Bulls this series, I'd only like to see them win to stick it to Garnett. All his antics and crap, gosh I would have loved to see him pull that sh*t on MJ. MJ would have not only beaten him, he would have rubbed it in his face for good measure.

I personally was disgusted by KG's nut grabbing in game 4.

Must be fun to be a part-time troll.

Pointing out hypocrisy is not trolling. Ben Gordon has been as big a thug as Garnett in this series.

At least Ben Gordon did that after hitting a huge shot.

KG does it after.... sitting on the bench... or leaving the bench because he can't take it because he's too INTENSE... or... sitting on the bench some more.

Honestly, though, it's crazy to me that nothing has changed about officiating after the Donaghy scandal. For years, people have speculated that NBA games were officiated in ways to manipulate outcomes (admittedly, in favor of the 90's Bulls too)... lo and behold, there was evidence that it was all true, at least to some extent. That Kings/Lakers series was a joke.

Despite that, games are still officiated inconsistently. Star players are still favored. Home teams are officiated differently than road teams. How is it that nothing changed?

Seeing KG reduced to Jack Haley with more profanity is one of the highlights of the series for me.

so actually the officiating is very consistent then.

Consistently inconsistent.

SSR, Id just like to point out that your posts about the officiating in this thread, when compared to you posts about the officiating in any Illinois basketball thread, are pretty contradictory. You brought up the Bulls have shot more free throws than the Celts, and Id guess that same stuff was said to you during almost every Illinois game, and you completely dismissed it. Im not trying to be a dick, but after following Illinois all year on here with you, its kind of funny seeing you on the Truffle side of things. :D

I'm not sure I agree with what that being what I said in the Illinois threads. Illinois NEVER went to the line, and it made sense because their 2 big men were jump shooters, and their 2 players on the entire team who ever took drove the ball inside 15 feet.

I had the Celtics pegged as similar teams with regard to drawing fouls(which Tyrant corrected me on for post trade deadline #s, though still the free throw disparity is in line.), which is why I brought up FTs.
