I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo bored. These is no emotion in this game. The Cubs players look lifeless as if they just gave up and will give it another try tomorrow.

Too many 42's. It's throwing off the team mojo.

I know Gooz just gave up a run there but am I crazy to want him as the Closer? Keep Marmol in the 8th or the biggest spot in the game. Let Gooz go consistently in save situations, would probably be better for his arm. (I think this is one reason Wood got the Closer role last year instead of Marmol, there is sometimes where you need to throw 2 innings or throw back to back but for the most part you can keep a Closers workload in the not terrible area). Maybe Gregg could be solid as a 7th inning guy.

I say Marmol 8th, Gooz 9th.. see what the kid can do..

Id be all for Guz getting the closer job, but I think hes going to have to show Lou he can throw strikes consistently before its even considered.

yeah he needs to get confidence in his stuff and learn not to nibble against big league hitters. plus the guy really needs experience, he's been hurt so much during his career. throwing him into the closer role at this stage is really premature.

It seems if a RHP hits his slider spots against us, it doesn't matter if it's Derek Lowe, Jason Marquis, or Bozo the Clown.

We ain't scorin'.

That's a little repetitive ... last time I checked Marquis was Bozo.

Good news: The Cardinals called up some random schlub to start against us on Friday

Bad news: When was the last time the Cubs actually punished some AAA starter that had to make an emergency start?

Yeah, I'd have to agree. Plus, I don't think I'd like to see him become the closer, than get injured and have to go back to Gregg.

Soto Grand Slam

It would be almost as fulfilling as that Soto game-tying 3 run donger against the Brewers late September last year

Haven't read any of thread when Harden was in there. Holy crap was that the most bi-polar pitching performance/stat line ever?
