We got three players who are in the minors for Mark DeRosa ... we didn't exactly sell high.

Gaub and Stevens could be decent relievers. Archer has some promise, but he's got control problems and is a long ways away from being a contributor in the majors.

I really hope Gooz can keep up the good work and become a key part of our pen

He basically has to or else our bullpen is going to be in shambles.

pretty sure i've mentioned this before, but cotts sucks and i hate him.

Too bad Lou doesn't

lou doesn't really have a choice. the next option for a lefthanded pitcher beyond cotts is j.r. mathes or the wrong papelbon.

Jason Waddell demands recognition!

Also, we have some decent lefties in AA who might be ready come mid-summer.

still, if your "loogy" has control problems and no special ability to get LH batters out, and you have no options beyond that except for a handful of decent arms at AA, your general manager has failed.

It seems like Guzman gives up a run every time he pitches.

He pitched pretty decent. 1 bloop hit and a hit and run double. Hes throwing the ball well

I know Gooz just gave up a run there but am I crazy to want him as the Closer? Keep Marmol in the 8th or the biggest spot in the game. Let Gooz go consistently in save situations, would probably be better for his arm. (I think this is one reason Wood got the Closer role last year instead of Marmol, there is sometimes where you need to throw 2 innings or throw back to back but for the most part you can keep a Closers workload in the not terrible area). Maybe Gregg could be solid as a 7th inning guy.

I say Marmol 8th, Gooz 9th.. see what the kid can do..

Just got home... why didn't the Cubs hit the living daylights out of Marquis??

Wind blowing in and the hitters apparently not being big fans of going the other way on Nibbler.

Id be all for Guz getting the closer job, but I think hes going to have to show Lou he can throw strikes consistently before its even considered.

This game is sure a far cry from what I was picturing with Harden striking out the side in the first and Marquis pitching. The good news? It's almost over.

I am soooooooooooooooooooooooo bored. These is no emotion in this game. The Cubs players look lifeless as if they just gave up and will give it another try tomorrow.
