After a dominating pitching performance in a soggy Wrigley Field, the Cubs look to sweep this 2 game series over the Rockies. They will face an old friend as everyone's favorite #5 starter Jason Marquis takes the bump for the Rockies. I will enjoy seeing the Cubs patient lineup getting ahead in the count almost every at bat as Marquis keeps desperately trying to nibble at the corners to no avail (something we know all too well about Marquis).

Rich Harden takes the mound for the Cubs, trying to build on his excellent performance on Friday vs. Milwaukee. ARam and Soto should be back in the lineup, giving it more thunder. Milton Bradley however should still be on the bench for another couple games. Go Cubs!

Off days blow.

I like the way this team is looking so far, and I'll like it a lot more when Soto and Ramirez are back. I hope they all remind Marquis why he's not here anymore.

The 3 people who have seen Marquis for at least 10 at-bats have all destroyed him. Of course, for 2 of these people all those at-bats were from 06 and earlier. Lee, Ramirez, and Miles have had a lot of success against him though.

Bradley interestingly enough has had trouble with Marquis. 0-6 could be attributed to sample size, but the fact that 4 of those are strikeouts is puzzling.

Im not sure which is more puzzling..Bradley struggling vs Maquis, or Aaron Miles having success vs anybody

I didn't realize this, but the Cubs are 2nd in MLB in walks, with 38. The Dodgers are first, with 40, but they've played 1 more game.

The Cubs are hitting a paltry .263 as a team, but are near the top in OBP due to those walks.

I'm more shocked that someone has drawn more walks than the Cubs, even if they've played more games.

I'd have bet big money the Cubs were tops in that category. They are on pace to draw 874 walks this season.

Take that in the earhole, Dusty!

Ramirez scratched from lineup again ... i think

The date on the blog is the 13th, but in the blog it says he is scratched "again", so I'm thinking it is supposed to be for today.

I can't see how you possibly think that that entry is meant for anything except Monday.

I mean, Aramis may end up pulled today, but that blog isn't reporting it.

I'm not so sure. The list of posts on the right suggests it was added today at 10:30 am. Moreover, if that was Monday's post, why would he say "again"?

If you click on the links to the right, the one dated:

Apr. 15, 2009, 10:37 AM, brings this story up. Seems pretty clear it's about today's game. The April 13 timeline of 7:26PM appears to be wrong.

I agree - this is referring to Monday's game. There is even a comment dated 4/14 . . .

This is why: "Aramis Ramirez, initially in today's starting lineup, was pulled again with a back problem. "

Monday was the first time he was pulled with a back problem, so again would mean today. I may not be right, but this was why I brought it up.

Like I said, he could end up pulled today, but this blog was clearly posted on the 13th given its date and the comment attached to it. Not sure why he used "again," but he's also talking about "today's game" and it was clearly written and posted before today.

But how could someone have commented on today's lineup yesterday? (I wouldn't be surprised is Aram is pulled, but I don't think this is referring to today's game).

I think it's clearly talking about today's game. He has a separate blog about Monday's game and Aramis getting pulled. The date on the right side shows this blog as the 15th.

Besides, if you believe the April 13th date, it says it was at 7:26 PM. Why would Levine say at the end: More to follow after Piniella's pregame news conference? It's obvious the date is wrong after that statement because Lou's next pregame conference wouldn't be for almost 2 days from the time the date/time combination says it was posted.

I don't see anything "clearly" about it. It is listed as both April 13 and April 15. Why would he post this note after the Cubs game anyway (7:26 pm)? He says "again", and he references Cubs officials saying 3-5 days, something that was not discussed Monday.
