It is a groin strain. I was listening on the radio. Jake Fox, your table is ready.

If its more than a 15 day minimum DL stint, Id say bring Back Jimmy Edmonds, and ditch Gathright when Bradley come sback, but Jim will need an extended spring training+some time in Iowa for conditioning, so if Milton wouldnt be out loing, there woukd be little point in that move.

Has Edmonds said that he wanted to play?

It's Jimmy Ballgame. Of course he wants to play.

If Jimmy didnt want to play hed have filled out his retirement papers by now. He was looking for a team during ST, I dont know why hed change his mind now. Still, hes not going to be ready to go just yet as hes had no spring training. It will come down to Fox or Fuld depending if Lou prefers a better bat or a capable defensive player.

yeah, was gonna say. he walked off on his own, and didn't look like it was anything serious. lou said he was glad that he didn't try to score on the play because he will probably be healthy, but might have torn it if he kept running. dude needs to get into yoga or something.

Well even if its a minor injury, we know he probably won't play tomorrow/Tuesday (whenever the home opener is played) because of the wet conditions out there. We'll see just how long he is out though. I am guessing Lou will be as cautious as possible with him as he is confident we can keep it going mostly without him.

Give him the day off tomorrow. With the extra day off on Tuesday, let's hope he'll be okay by Wednesday.

Him + Geo coming back + Rockies pitching = we could be in for some fireworks

I believe we will be facing Jason Marquis on Wednesday.

This is correct, but they'll have to deal with Ubaldo Jiménez tomorrow/Tuesday and he's damn good.

Looks like tomorrow could be rained out so we could get a break if it isn't that bad and he could be back Tuesday. Even if we get the game in tomorrow with rainy/wet conditions it is likely Bradley wouldn't play anyways even if he was healthy just to not risk anything.

Definitely need to keep our eye on the weather. Bradley shouldn't play in any game where the temp is below 60 degrees. And he should never play on a wet field. We knew this was the risk going in. The question is: do you want Reed's glove or Micah's bat in there when MB is out?

Prime time for the return of the creature!

Seriously

A quick look at the 40 man shows that our options are Fox or Fuld. On another note, how are there no other infielders or catchers on the 40 man roster? Not that I want a return to the days of 12 middle infielders on the 40 man, but this is ridiculous.

Initially I was upset but, this is just what Cubs signed up for in Bradley. They took a chance, let's hope his injury doesn't keep him on the DL or out of the lineup too long although, once again, this injury seems to be one those that will linger for whole season. Wonder if it'll come down to how much pain/discomfort Bradley wants to play in/with.

Reed is a capable fill-in when Bradley is out. And frankly I'd rather Bradley sit out if the field is gonna be this wet.

I thought I heard Judd say that Bradley left with a groin strain. How long will this keep him out?

Probably more news to come after the game.

I am on my third week of limited running, my pace use to be 7-9 minute I am down to 10-12 and going from 40 mile week to a 14 mile week. It stinks!!
