I figure this is the best place to put this. I read a good joke about the NFL the other day.

 

If the Jacksonville Jaguars are called the Jags and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are called the Bucs than what are the Tennessee Titans called?

As for the Vick stuff. I will laugh if any team gives up more than a 4th round pick for him.

Yet another reason to be a Titan fan. :D

 

And I'm not sure I'd give a 4th rounder for his rights. Maybe a fifth or sixth. I wouldn't be livid if the Titans threw a 4th out to move him to WR, though, I guess.

I'm not sure if this is the best move, but Dan Morgan is making a return to the New Orleans Saints.

 

The former Pro Bowl linebacker began thinking about a comeback with the New Orleans Saints -- even with his history of five concussions and numerous other injuries.

 

I know what everybody thinks on the outside. They think I'm crazy for coming back," Morgan told The Associated Press by phone from his home in Charlotte. I know where I stand with my health. I feel good concussion-wise. I feel good Achilles'-wise. I'm ready to come back and play and I'm not worried about it at all.

The Ravens cut Chris McAlister and the Jags cut Fred Taylor. And Jeff Garcia has been informed by the Bucs that he will not be brought back next year.

 

A few big names hitting the free agent market early on in the process.

The Broncos have cut defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, along with 5 other vets (including LB Jamie Winborn and Niko Koutouvides).

 

Robertson would be a nice pickup for some 3-4 defense needing some depth at DT.

Taylor would make a fantastic one-two punch with Forte. Give him 8-12 touches a game and he can still be very effective, plus he is generally considered one of the best at blocking in the passing game.

 

Bears are going to need to lessen the kids' load this season. Makes a lot of sense to me

Indy has re-signed corner Kelvin Hayden to a five-year deal.

 

The Indianapolis Colts and cornerback Kelvin Hayden have agreed to a five-year deal worth approximately $43 million, a source told ESPN's Michael Smith on Wednesday.

The deal includes more than $22 million in guarantees.

The Indianapolis Colts and cornerback Kelvin Hayden have agreed to a five-year deal worth approximately $43 million, a source told ESPN's Michael Smith on Wednesday.

The deal includes more than $22 million in guarantees.

 

I quietly wanted Hayden a lot. I didn't think it would happen, but he'd be the perfect fit on the Bears defense.

Hayden's definitely a nice corner. And you know the Colts love him if they're willing to pay him. The only players they've given big money to are guys like Harrison, Peyton, Freeney, Mathis, etc.

Damn. The more options in the market (on either lines) the better for the Bears.

Maybe the Bears are one of the unnamed teams he's interested in being traded to.

 

Only if they're swapping over to a 3-4 defense. :D

 

I would be so down with that.

 

It'll never happen with Lovie in charge, I'd say.

The Andre Smith saga continues. First he gets suspended for Alabama's bowl game. Then he shows up at the combine and announces he's fat and not going to do anything. Then today, he completely no-shows the combine.

 

Mayock is dropping him way down the board.

The Colts are apparently going to look a whole lot different next year.

 

Marvin Harrison's reluctance to take a pay cut could mark the end of his career in Indianapolis. Though the team isn't expected to make a decision on Harrison until Thursday, when all teams have to be under the salary cap, Harrison could speed up the process by asking for his release to give him time to find a new team, a source told Clayton.

 

(Jeff) Saturday, however, told The Associated Press later that he has discussed it with his wife and has decided to become a free agent.

 

(Hunter) Smith's agent, Thomas Mills, has said Smith also does not expect to be re-signed by the Colts before Friday.

 

Wow, that's a lot of changes.
