Former Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator Turk Schonert sounded off during a television interview after being fired this week, telling WIVB-TV in Buffalo that there were major philosophical differences between him and coach Dick Jauron.

"He told me the offense wasn't simple enough for him," Schonert said. "We had too many formations, too many plays. I didn't simplify it to his liking."

"He wants a 'Pop Warner' offense. He limited me in formations, and limited me in plays. He's been on my back all offseason."

Jauron's offensive approach has always been simple. But also, he's trying to install a no-huddle this year, so it makes sense to me that you would want to limit the formations -- it will help avoid penalties and mistakes, and help to get the no-huddle installed faster.

I think there's two sides to this story. But in any event, when a guy goes out and airs his dirty laundry to the press, that tells me he isn't a real quality guy in the first place. If you've got a problem, then the best way to prove you were right is to get another job and be successful. Taking pot shots in the press is classless.
