the Bears could offer him a billion dollars and he wouldn't come here. T.O. is all about his numbers, and he knows that Orton won't get them for him

It's tough to not think about TO to NE. They have tons of money, and Brady needs all the help he can get after coming back from surgery. If they were to do this, you can count on all of the draft picks to be OL and defense.

Spreading touches between TO, Moss and Welker seems like it could be a tough fit.

Winning, along with a strong chance of going undefeated, cures a lot of those ills. Especially when you have Belichek to lay the smack down if needed.

And I could be wrong, but I don't think Welker is as demanding about getting the ball. He seems to just enjoy playing and wants to win - a true gritty team player.

But we're talking about T.O. If Bill Parcells couldn't "control" him...what would Belichek do? Any team that gets T.O. better be willing to throw him the ball constantly, and be ok with him running his mouth about everything and anything. I think loosening the reins is the only way to live with T.O...not tightening them.

Yes, Welker is white. But it's not about him whining, it's about him getting 100 catches, Moss getting 90, and then TO what? TO caused trouble when Philly was winning and when Dallas was winning. The key to TO is making him the focal point and winning. TO would be the 3rd option in New England.

I could see TO going to the Vikings, Browns, Ravens, Raiders, or Jaguars. With the dark horse being the Broncos.

I doubt the Ravens and Jags will shell out the money. The Broncos might, but the clear favorite, in my opinion, is the easy fallback option - Oakland.

ESPN.com has a rumor about TO going to the Redskins, but I don't have Insider to read it

A google news search bring up a Rotoworld article with the title "Redskins: No interest in TO".

Rotoworld is blocked here at work, so that's all I got.

t.o. probably wouldn't be a bad idea for a team that needs a really good receiver for one year. but if the eagles/cowboys experiences have shown anything, it's that you bring in t.o. for one year, reap the rewards, and no matter how good he is that season, dump him after a year.

Oakland's QB situation isn't all that great either. I could see TO becoming very frustrated with Russell, very quickly.

Here's the blurb from Rotoworld.

Redskins GM Vinny Cerrato flatly denied interest in free agent Terrell Owens.

League sources also tell Profootballtalk that the Falcons and Vikings will not be in pursuit. "(Owens’ representatives) called us three years ago before he went to Dallas, and we didn’t have interest then," Cerrato said. "Why would we have interest when he’s three years older? We have no interest."

If nothing else, Russell could chuck bombs downfield to TO. Their offense would probably be more productive that way than they were last year. :-))

I agree, though, TO would only get frustrated there, but I don't think that'll stop Al Davis.

Maybe this is the time when TO finally gets relegated to a less-than-ideal situation, instead of being plopped into a nice QB-passing-rich offense each time.

He's hell to deal with when working in an offense that throws to him alot. Let's see how he deals with being on a team that can barely even get the ball to him.

He should call up Randy Moss for some Raiders-era pointers.

Thank the lord.

T.O. is not what Matt Ryan needs

Owens is going to find a place to play, but his options are dwindling. He may have to sign with a bad team. The Raiders still haven't denied interest.

And I don't think they're going to.

He's stuck on somebody's bench now. The difference is he doesn't have a chance of getting off that bench in Arizona. If Matt Leinart isn't just happy with his paycheck, he should do whatever he can to get traded to Chicago, Tampa, New York, and a couple other places (maybe not Detroit).

He's still very young and has a lot of potential. I'd imagine if Tampa can't make a trade for Cutler, they'd give up a pick for Leinart. As a Bears fan, if I could get him for a 3rd rounder, I would in a heartbeat.

Would the other teams do it though? Right now he's an apparent busted pick who can't get off the bench against a (granted, very talented) 40-year-old QB. If he starts pitching a fit because he's not earning a chance, would other teams jump at acquiring a malcontent apparent busted pick who can't get off the bench against a (granted, very talented) 40-year-old QB? I really doubt they'd give an early pick.

I realize he's stuck on the bench now, but I think the chances are high that he would piss off more teams than he would entice by whining now. Warner's earned his starting jobs, but Leinart hasn't played particularly well.

I doubt teams would be turned off by a QB in his situation asking for a trade. You can ask for that trade without being a complete malcontent. He's in a bad situation, because he's going to hit free agency without any playing time under his belt. Playing the good guy isn't going to drive up his eventual price, the only way he can do that is by playing right now.

AZ has a ton of cash tied up in QB, and will have a ton tied into WR. They should be motivated to deal the guy. Given Warner's health, it could be enticing to keep a guy like Leinart around to backup, but that's a luxury at this point.
