Sorry but dew beat me to it, because I was in class.

Nah, I'm just faster and better.

Dew, you guys are having a really good day with Myles ( :( ) and Teague going your way. Congrats on those two young men. Great players, and if Gordon qualifies academically..........you guy will be a nice team net yr, provided you coach can you know....coach.

Yeah, I'm happy with the day so far. Marlon Brown was a disappointment, but I'm hoping against hope we pull in NuKeese Richardson.

Yeah, you try getting down three flights of stairs with 100 other students at lunch....... :D

Didn't Marlon go to GA per rumor? Cause if he did, man what a WR combo GA has in Green/Brown.

Stonewall Jackson HS (Manassas, VA) athlete Damien Thigpen picks UCLA over Notre Dame.

Much needed speed for the Bruins.

Didn't even visit ND and a lot of WRs ahead of him on the depth chart. Good get for UCLA.

Te'o is a huge get for Weis. This class is possibly his worst since arriving at ND, but Te'o makes it a bit better.

Te'o makes it a bit better? One of the best players in the country and likely a starting LB for ND as a freshman. You might be understating it a tad.

And there were some misses for ND, but there's quality if not quantity. Would have been nice to land a couple more DL and one or both of those safeties, but there's a lot of really good talent in this class.

Considering I'm about 280 pounds, that wouldn't work well. I managed it through 5 years of college though. :D

Rumors I'm hearing (per the Knoxville News Sentinel) are that he's going to sign with Ohio State. That's a shocker because I was hearing it was down to UT or UGA for him.

So Ronnie Wingo...I am hearing mixed reports about this guy that he is soft and scared of contact. Anybody got info on this guy?

Also, the rich just keep getting richer (figure of speech of course). The SEC has 10 of the top 25 classes according to Rivals. Auburn is a surprise. I really thought the whole Chizik drama would hurt those guys. Petrino is building something really big at Arkie. No surprise: LSU dominates again.

Oddly enough, UCLA has a bunch of WRs and RBs ahead of him on the depth chart too but they don't have that type of speed. Hopefully Randall Carroll flips to UCLA this evening.

Where did tOSU come from? Maybe Tressel will allow Marlon to play basketball? To me that was the rumor surrounding Marlon is that he was looking for a school that would allow him basketball along with football. Have you heard that, dew? Otherwise that would be a heckuva QB/WR threat of Pryor and Brown, provided Pryor improves his mechanics.

I'd love some sort of rational explanation behind Mississippi St. pulling the #24 class in the country.

Mississippi as a state is loaded with high school talent and alot of kids stay close to home. Memphis high schools are loaded every year. If you have ever been anywhere close to Starkville, you wonder why ANYONE would choose to live in the middle of a cotton field. Keep in mind there are 3 universities in MS that recruit the state and they still get talent to play there.

27 recruits. When your rankings are comprised solely of total number of points, you can rank high even if you have almost exclusively 3 stars. Also how teams like S Carolina and UNC are top 10 or close. 29 commits. Do they even have enough room for all those players (Alabama signed more than they could take last year, as I recall).

I think he wants to play basketball as well, though I thought Kiffin/Pearl were ok with that. And I hadn't heard a thing about OSU and Marlon Brown until this morning, so I don't have a clue where that came from.

Hosak might have heard something, but I thought it was likely Tennessee and possibly UGA.

Alabama signed about 32 kids last yr. Two went the baseball route (Hood and Ray) at least two went JUCO (Brandon Lewis and Devonta Bolton), one could not meet the academic standards at Alabama last yr(Murphy, he finally met the academic standard this yr and is currently enrolled at the university). Two other players went the grey-shirt route (Jermaine Preyear is one, and right now I can't think of the other). So all in all Alabama did sign 32 in last yr class, but only 25 make it to campus.

Rivals has Ole Miss at 33 LOI and 1 still ready to sign. Massive oversigning here of Bama proportions. Not all these guys are going to be on the roster next year. Their rankings arent accurate to what they will field either.

Bama signed I think 32 players. So many didn't actually end up going that ND was retroactively named the top class by the major services after the dust settled. I don't know why schools do that, but if they can get away with it...

Same here. But then again nobody saw Massie going to Ole Miss (if I remember I am going to PM you about why I am fuming over Massie).

Gotta love the thought processes of 16 and 17 year old kids.

Schools do oversign because they kno there will be a few academic casualties and you still go after those players, plus players you know will make it to campus. This way in 2 yrs (provided they go JUCO or they don't go to a school with weaker academic standards) said school (let's say Alabama should be able to re-sign both Brandon Lewis and Devonta Bolton after the 2009 season) can bring those kids back after improving on their grades. It's perfectly legal as long as schools DO NOT HAVE more then 85 schloarship players on their roster. It is basically a quick way to accumlate depth for a school.

The SEC is really bad about oversigning. Arkansas, South Carolina, Ole Miss, and Auburn.

Perhaps the best offensive lineman in the nation, Morgan Moses, is going to Virginia.

A little surprise, but given that fact that Moses wants to start as a freshman, even tho coaches from Bama/OSU and other major schools believe he is a major raw project, I'm not surprise who chose a school who is willing to let him developed. tOSU/Bama both pull away from Moses he wants to start, even then he isn't ready to start. Good pick up for Virginia.
