So, how's your team looking?

FSU is doing well and filling holes that existed. We're still waiting to find out if there are going to be a few lost scholarships for the 2009-10 year, but we may add up to 5 more.

The crown jewels are Demonte McAlister and Jaccobi McDaniel on the DL (at this point) IMO.

I can't say this will put us back in the MNC race every year, but we're getting back to where we were competing at a high level every year.

Tennessee's rebounding nicely after losing a top 10 class when Fulmer was booted.

Lane Kiffin has gotten a commitment from Eric Gordon and he and Orgeron are pushing extremely hard for Marlon Brown. Those two, plus David Oku, Toney Williams, Jerrod Askew, James Green and DJ Hunter should make this a nice class.

He's going to Indiana, he just hasn't told you yet. I've seen this kind of thing before.

Do the Hoosiers want another Eric Gordon?

Louisiana Tech is probably going to have their best class ever. I know that's not really saying a whole lot. They have 22 commits so far. 6 of them are 3 stars, and the others are all 2 stars. Edited by B

Iowa will have a smaller class and only has 12 commits thus far. The big ones are Brandon Wegher and Keenan Davis. Two 4-star, legit skill-position studs from in-state for the first time in a long time. They have another 3-star WR from Iowa and a 3-star back from Ohio that was the first commit.

Other than that it's all 2 stars. Probably the highest percentage they've ever had. I just can't get as upset about it as I used to. I wish we had some more highly ranked recruits but it's more about keeping them on campus and developing them.

23 verbals for PSU, thanks mostly to Larry Johnson Sr., who owns Maryland.

Rivals has them with seven 4-star recruits and ten 3-stars.

Most important recruit is probably QB Kevin Newsome, who is a "dual-threat" QB a la Daryll Clark and Michael Robinson. He's rated as the #4 dual-threat QB in the nation.

They also have a pair of 4-star DE's and a pair of 4-star DB's.

Overall class ranking is #22 right now, which is 4th in the Big Ten (behind OSU #2, Michigan #8 and MSU #18)

Michigan is looking solid even after the horrible year. Need another QB recruit to go along with Tate Forcier. Looks like we'll be in the the top 8 recruiting class with a chance to be in the top 5 with a good finish. There are a couple of quality guys Michigan is recruiting hard right now.

We'll see how Rich-Rod does with is own recruits. I tend to prefer coaches who mold their offense around their personnel to those who have a "scheme" and recruit to that style, but I guess going 100% spread worked for him in WVA

By KU's standards, we've got a pretty good class going.

22 commits. We've won several guys over Nebraska, OK St, even one over Notre Dame. Mangino + the new facilities are really paying dividends.

three 4 stars, (the #4 full back in the class, #17 DB, and a 4* JUCO DE)

sixteen 3 stars

only three 2 stars

We kept most of the top talent from in-state excluding the blue chippers who went to OU and Miami.

We're looking to add a couple more guys.

The one shortcoming is the LB position, which could be a position of need, too.

Mizzou has a solid class. I was hoping for a Top 25, and there's still time, but right now they're on the outside looking in. It's really gonna depend on if Ronnie Wingo, a RB/Athlete from St. Louis comes to Mizzou or heads elsewhere.

Star of the class is Sheldon Richardson a defensive tackle, the number 4 rated player in the country, regardless of positions. He looked awesome in the Army All American game. And d-line is huge position of need for MU.

Also, Josh Tatum, a Juco linebacker who originally commited to USC, is coming to Mizzou. JUCO's are tricky, but the more talented defensive players Mizzou can get, the better.

Purdue had a middle of the class recruiting year just like the last few years.

They're ranked 63rd on Scout.com

Most of the big recruits are DT which is a need on our team. Most of the recruits are three start athletes. looks like Purdue will be near the bottom of the Big Ten next year

UK is ranked 28th by scout and 43rd by Rivals, which is the best class in the Brooks era.

amazing discrepancy between the 2 sites. PSU is #22 on Rivals and #10 on Scout. Is it just a different evaluation system or what?

He was recruiting a kid in my neck of the woods last week. I had to GIS to confirm that it was your coach.

Chris Matthews WR out of a LA JUCO.

Recruiting is finally on the rebound the past 2 seasons at UCLA. 19 on Scout, 14 at Rivals. Have the Scout top rated TE in the country, Morrell Presley, who flipped on his USC commitment a month ago. Also, they have a 4-star QB, a 4-star LB, a big 4-star OT (who is still visiting schools like USC and Cal), a 4-star CB (who flipped from Notre Dame last weekend) and a 4-star DE. They're still in on a few OL prospects which is a big need.

Looked him up but he goes to school a good 20 miles away from where they met in Pasadena. It might have been someone else. Brooks was there with an assistant coach and what looked like parents.

illinois has some good players. they're ranked 30 on scout but they'll go up if appleton finally gives a solid commitment.

they have their bookend defensive ends in tank carradine and craig drummond........bad dudes. they have some more interior line help with lendell buckner.

at the skill positions, they have terry hawthorne(wr, probably), bud golden(rb), and nathan scheelhaase(qb), most notably. although i think steve hull out of cincy could be a sleeper.

on the offensive front, they've secured commitments from, again, notably: andrew carter and leon hill, but i'm crossing my fingers for marcus hall.

not too shabby.

How does Tennessee always get someone out of Oklahoma?

We've got a pipeline in there. Probably going back to the Trooper Taylor days when he had connections out there.

Goes back further than that. Marcus Nash was a huge get out of Tulsa in the mid 90's.

Nash led to Meachem led to Gerald Jones led to Oku. Tennessee has been in on recruits from OK for years now. Here's hoping that Chaney can keep this up.

Huh, forgot that Nash was from Oklahoma.
