it's hard for me to get too excited today since there really isn't any big time prospect with PSU on their short list. Feels like they're kinda getting who we know they're getting.

 

Tennessee was on the short list of a number of big time guys, but so far we're losing out on all of them (Marlon Brown, Alshon Jeffrey, David Oku, Aubrey Phillips).

 

It's very discouraging.

Five-star defensive tackle Gary Brown signed with Florida despite rumors he would consider Florida State.

 

Brown was one of the first prospects to commit to the Gators in this class. The Quincy (Fla.) West Gadsden is the No. 23 prospect in the class and the fifth-ranked recruit in the Sunshine State.

 

Yup. I'm pretty disappointed his mom never let him fully consider FSU.

 

From all the info I've received, he wanted to come visit and she wouldn't let him. He talks regularly to Odell Haggins, the DL coach and has mentioned numerous times that he wanted to sign with FSU. His girlfriend will be attending FSU next year, and she wanted him to be there with her. Brown's mom turned away Bobby Bowden and wouldn't even take the time to talk with him.

I've heard the LOI isn't signed yet, but I don't buy it. IMO it's over.

 

Also, it could be worse - we could have had to deal with Bryce Brown's "agent" instead of Gary Brown's mom.

Tennessee just signed the #6 linebacker in the nation, Jerod Askew. That one is fairly expected, but makes me happy.

Well Wingo is staying at Arkansas, but somewhat unexpectedly (in my opinion anyways), Mizzou landed Chris Freeman, a 6-9, 350 lb OL. I love it.

Just heard on the radio that Darren Myles Jr. has signed with Tennessee!!

 

That's huge for the Vols.

Also, I'm pretty impressed with the class that Auburn has put together. As big of a clusterf*** as their season seemed to be, they have done a great job getting a high-powered class together on the Plains.

Yes, very happy about Marsalis Teague. I didn't want to start assuming him until he signed - which he did just a little while ago.

 

There might still be some minor shot at Marlon Brown. He hasn't signed yet and all I've heard are "sources" saying he's going to OSU.
